Angry rust spots

Has anyone else had a problem with rust spots on the hood? I have a ton of tiny pinhole size rust spots on my hood. I was just wondering if I was the only one.

Where do all of you guys with rust spots live? I just inspected my car at the last wash and my car was fine. No rust, a chip or two on the hood, but nothing bad. No major scratches, nothing. Wonder if location has anything to do with the rust?

location defiantely has something to do with rust...We're lucky that we live in SoCal where rust is almost a non-issue...unless you live right next to the beach (salt water)...but nothing is worse than living in places near the beach, humid, and snows...

that being said, new cars shouldnt rust (even in harsh environments)...thats why cars have rust warranty (seperate from powertrain and bumper to bumper warranty)...most of the rust warranty's i see are for about 5 years...

Something is definitely wrong if you have rust spots on a car that new.

rust spot

I live in Florida. I have a friend of mine that does body work & he told be the rust spots are from a bad paint job. He said it is usually caused by solvent bubbles that pop after the clear coat went on. I'm just pissed because now I know I am going to have to battle with the dealership to get it repainted.
