Right head light went out

So I have changed the ballast, bulb, and igniter recently then tried the lights and the right one goes out again. I have checked the fuse under the hood and found that it was blown. Replaced it then tried again and no right head light and this time the fuse blew again. What could be blowing the fuse out every time i turn the head lights on?

A short in the wiring is a likely cause if you keep blowing fuses.

Could be a defective HL relay. Pull the relay and swap it with another of the same exact type from a different circuit. If you're lucky the light will work now.

I hope it's not a short....

I will give this a try hopefully it's the relay.

Me too!

I'm having this exact problem!
I posted a thread, I must have overlooked this one already being here.

I replaced the ballast, igniter, and bulb also, and Pass HID will still not come on.

Did the relay fix your problem?

I'm gonna try tonight, I'll report back.

ummmm so I can't find a headlight relay on the schematic, there doesn't appear to be one in the fusebox ... ?

Seems that the ballast & igniter ended up being bad. I ended up going to a shop and had them run an electrical test on the right head light and the result was a burnt ballast & igniter. After replacing both my pass head light came on instantly.

Can you post the schematic?

Never heard of any car not having a relay for the headlamps (HL). Most cars have two, one for each side bc if one fails the other side still works. Exactly just like your scenario.

Mostly likely then the relay is built into a fuse box so find the location of the relay in the correct fuse box and then replace that fuse box.

Hint. Probably located in the fuse box noted in the HL schematic.

Check for an open ground, just incase.

A work around would be to add your own 25 amp relay and use the good HL side to trigger the no power HL side.

I hope that's not the case for me, I swapped all of my components around and no matter what, the pass side would not come on.
I found a schematic online somewhere with no mention of a relay, and inspection of the diagram in the fuse box does not list a relay either.

If anyone has any info on this please share, I haven't had a pass HL for a few weeks, trying to find time to tear it apart again to troubleshoot.
I'm going to verify I have voltage at the connector and go from there, I should have been smart enough to do that a long time ago... :/

I believe it's part of the relay control module. You need to confirm with a good sevice manual.
