To this end. last night I popped off my passenger side wiper and tried to slide out the wiper blade as per the manual (p.301-302 for 2006). OOPS ... ripped it instead. Off I go to the dealership....

Has anyone got any tips or tricks on this? My blade acts like it's glued in, the "lock" end would NOT pop up so I could slide it out of the wiper.

My lock end will not pop up either. I have to use my fingernail and pull up the end of the wiper assembly on the lock end and slide it out that way. It's just really thick rubber on the end.
Hope that helps you.

I bought replacement blades at the stealership (for $3 more than bought via the Acura eStore and picked up locally, dammit), and the parts guy showed me how to start it (worth $6 i guess). I took pictures of the operation at home and will post a DIY in the next few days.

Sneak preview: it's easier to pull the blade out from the "tab" (or non-lock) end. You can pop it out with a small, standard screwdriver (a manicurist's orangewood stick would be better, or a small, square-ish, thin coffee stirrer). I'll document several tips to make reinsertion of the new one easier.

List price for these parts (76622-SEA-J11 76632-SEC-A11) are about $7, and can be purchased elsewhere for $5 or so. Don't do like I did, even IF dealerships are entitled to $5 just for stocking the thing on a shelf. :P

Bottom line: the OM is misleading, you can't just "lift up" the end of the blade to slide it out.
