Power outlets not working...
I have tried plugging in my radar detector, my friend's cellphone charger, and another friend's iPod charger, and none of them work in either one of my power outlets.
I also just brought my TSX to the dealership for a quick check-up (no appointment), and they checked my fuses to see if they were blown, but they were fine.
Does anyone know what the problem could be??? I'd really rather not have to wait a week for the next appointment, followed by a few days of waiting to find out the issue because I have 30 days to return one of the radar detectors I just received (Passport x50 Blue vs. Valentine 1)...

By checking the fuses, what did they actually do? Sometimes a fuse can look fine, but actually has a thin crack that prevents it from conducting properly. If they took a multimeter and tested it, that's fine. If they didn't, I would replace it anyway.

The Power of a Grill
1. test with another fuse
2. test radar on another car to make sure it works
3. make sure nothing in socket(s) blocking connections (paper, etc.)
4. read up on your lemon laws and see if you can figure out a way to make your sockets necessary for the safety and function of the vehicle.

Do the chargers work in other cars?
Do the DC chargers themselves have fuses on them? If so, have you checked those?
I know my valentine one DC adapter has a fuse inside the adapter itself.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys...
I did check to see that both radar detectors function in my other car, so it's definitely the TSX and not the detectors.
When I went to the dealership, the guys didn't use a meter of any kind - the simply pulled them out, looked at them, and concluded that they were OK. Perhaps they rushed it a bit...

It's relatively rare for fuses to die invisibly like that but worth checking. Regardless, I would just call the dealer, make an appointment so you can get a loaner car, and tell them to fix it whatever it takes. Shouldn't cost you anything and you can test the radar detectors out on the loaner car.

Well I just swapped out the fuses with some spare ones out of the fusebox, and still no luck...
I don't have a voltmeter. Don't know how to even use one. Where would it connect, and what would it reveal in terms of specifying the issue I'm having?

I think your local Autozone should have one as a loaner tool. The voltmeter will tell you if the outlet is actually outputing any power.
Go get one as a loaner tool. Or buy a cheapy one. $10-$20.
Turn it on to DC volts. Touch the red lead to the very center bottom of the outlet and the black lead to the outside edges. You should get a reading close to 12 volts.
If that sounds like too much. Walk into the nearest dealer and tell them you just want a tech to do this for you and that you're in a rush. That way they don't try to make you sit there and wait for something that would only take like a minute for them to do.
If it's not outputing any power and your fuses are fine. Definitely make the dealer take care of fixing it under warranty as mentioned by JPT above.
...And oh yeah...Valentine One FTW

I would assume the connector behind the outlet is put off or cut. ask your dealer to check it for you, or if youknow how to take it out then check it yourself.
Careful don't scratch the interior. a lose wire inside your center console can be a major problem.

I have the same problem. I couldnt tell which fuse was the power outlet one so I left those alone. Did you find the problem and fix this issue yet? Anybody?
