I drive a '04 TSX and the FL ballast died. Before I go and purchase a new ballast from a dealership ($266 quoted, not including labor), I figured I'd ask if anyones had any luck buying used ballasts off ebay (usually ranging from $150-$190), or one of those $40-$50 adapter kits. I don't have the most money and don't want to need to replace it in a few months, I'm almost leaning towards the new one from the dealership.

Hoping someone has some good advice that might save me some money, or some experience within this realm.

 

do you know what make and model it is? I can ask if TRS has it in inventory.

 

I'm pretty sure it's manufactured by Mitsubishi

ebay's buyer protection plan will work to resolve any significant problems. I've bought many parts off ebay and had great results w/ only minor problems.

For instance, I bought a Toyota Celica ECM to check if ECM was actually bad. Turned out ECM was not the problems. Seller quickly accepted return (I paid postage only) on item.

You can find the ballast on car-part.com search of headlight assy, but not much cheaper than ebay and no buyer protection.
