Hi all, just started my 06' TSX and the touch screen panel is out... actually the backlight is on but the screen looks black. all the side buttons work and all the steering wheel buttons work but none of the bottom buttons which are GPS, AC,
Radio, etc... those are all dead.

I shut the car off and waited a few seconds and started engine again and that did nothing. I drove it home about an hours drive and shut it off and started again but same thing not even a Navigation logo nothing. I called the dealer and they said probably it would cost $400 if they can send the unit out for repair or $3800 if I need a new Nav unit. YIKES !

I opened the trunk and pressed the dvd open button and the door opened and I closed it and started up the car and now everything is fine...... I've had this car for 2 years and not 1 problem I love it, but was wondering if anyone else experienced anything like this. This car is 100% stock no modifcations of any kind i like it just the way it is 6 spd MT

I have a similiar problem but not a exactly same one. The Navi screen was completely dark and no response from touch screen. All the buttons around the screen were working though. It came back to normal the next day.

I'm wondering if Navi warranty has been extended to 7 years/100,000 miles and if the threads regarding the HVAC/center console lights applies here.

^ The HVAC light problem could be the culprit. I'd take it to the dealer and mention that TSB, although I am not sure if it only applies to 04 models. They might work with you if you have an 05+ with the problem.

Mine is 04 model. The dealer said they couldn't do anything until the problem can be duplicated. But the warranty will be expired in two months.

I see. Well, hopefully it will do it again so they can see what is going on. Which dealer? Might want to call a couple others and see what they can do for you. I used to go to Precision in Princeton until I moved recently. Love that dealership.

It's been 3 months now and Navigation & display are working fine.

TSX now has 65K miles on it and has been run several thousand miles and start-up - shut off several hundred times since my original post.

Car working fine. Everything working exactly as it should.

Best car I ever owned.

Doesn't matter...if you have documented the problem prior to warranty expiration, the dealer is obligated by law to fix it if it shows up later in the exact manner you described. This only applies on the within reason, but is very important to know.

If you are getting to the end of your warranty, take it in and complain about everything covered that is wrong. The you have a paper trail. It's really better to have seberal visits on the issue, but even one can sometimes save you a bunch of money.
