Navi display day/night auto switch

Hey acurazine, new here but finding lots of useful info already, a lot of nice looking TSXs out there. Last week I purchased an '07 TSX w/ Navi, my first Acura. Have owned a couple of Hondas in the past though, an Accord and Civic SI.

In the basic "set-up" screen for the Navi there are 4 'display' settings...off, auto, day, night. When 'auto' is selected my Navi screen should change to the night setting when my headlights are turned on, this is not happening. The 'night' setting works fine when changed manually or by voice command but it is not changing when the headlights are switched on which is the purpose of the 'auto' setting. Am I missing something or should I take it to the dealer for warranty work?

Thanks,

Your dashboard brightness is most likely all the way up on the brightest setting. Turn it down a notch. If it is on the brightest setting the night won't work.

By "dashboard brightness" are you referring to the gauges...speedo, tach???...or the brightness settings for the Navi system? For the Navi system my brightness settings are middle of the road, along w/ contrast and black setting, nothing is set to an extreme. I will go back in a double check though but don't believe it is my brightness setting.

its the dashboard brightness. turn the knob down 1 then turn on your lights - your nav screen will go to night.
