Manganese - MMT- Additives

I'm a new owner of an 06 TSX and just read in the owner's manual that we should not use gasoline that contains manganese. Has anyone ever posted a list of gasoline companies in the US that do or do not use manganese as an additive? I called Acura cusomer service and suggested such a list be developed.

I searched these forums and found comments about Sunoco not using it. I did a search on Sinclair Oil and Chevron and found that it appears from the Sinclair MSDS posting that their premium does not use MMT. Chevron's site was no help.

The general trend, I beleive is a move away from MMT because of damage to environmental systems.

Any ideas on how to compile the list. If you will post replies for brands you have found that do not have MMT I can put the list together and re-post later.

Use fuels recommended by www.toptiergas.com and you'll be OK.

I think that website is bogus. It lists some retailers and some criterion from a standard. There is no indication of results or who sponsors the page. If it was reputable there would be more information.

You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. So be it.

I actually posted something about this awhile ago and researched this. I don't know about other gasoline companies, but from my research of BP, they do not have MMT as per their public relations email since BP is abundant where I am and I have their BP Visa where I get 5% discount cashbacks on BP purchases and 1-2% cashback on all other purchases.

I didn't pursue this with other companies, though Chevron, from my understanding has no MMT either.

I tried Valero last week and I didn't notice anything. Since I needed to fill up the tank again, I got Mobil. I felt that my car picked up faster. I'm definitely staying away from Valero.
