Instrument cluster problem

I will first provide a little background on my car. I drive a 2004 TSX with just over 82k miles. It’s a 6 speed manual with the inboard navigationsystem, voice control, etc… The car has never been wrecked and has never sustained any water damage. While driving on the highway this morning, at about 75 mph, I noticed my temperature gauge, speedometer, and tachometer all simultaneously go to zero (my gasgauge was not affected). The engine did not die, and I did not notice any mechanical anomalies… the car was still driving just fine. After about 2 or 3 seconds, the gauges bounced back up to their normal location. The gauges jumped around for a total of about 15 seconds, and then everything went normal again. I have not experienced any problems since that time. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks!!

Gauge Control Module runs all four gauges. A problem with it sets a code. So we know it's not the module. The problem is that a bad ground should screw the fuel gauge too.

Older cars often have curcuit boards that start to get gaps or cracks in solder joints or connections. That behavior is similar to what might happen, the fuel gauge is the mystery.

Thanks for the input. It happened again today. This time however, both the gas gauge and speedometer stayed normal, while the temp gauge and tachometer jumped around. Another detail that I did not mention is that a dash light comes on which says VSA. I've had the problem with the VSA light for a while. I took it to a Honda dealer and after removing both front tires and inspecting the stability system, they could not find any problems (Indicating that it is a false warning, probably an electric problem). The VSA light comes on randomly and stays on until i restart the car. Both times that I have experienced the problems with the gauges, the VSA light has been on. I'm not sure if this is a coincidence, or if the two problems are somehow related.

Did the Honda dealer hook it up to their HDS to look for codes?
