Installing Moleskin - need some advice.

Hey guys,

Well, I've noticed after about a year, I'm getting a very faint vertical scratch on my passenger side window tint. It's not really bad, and hardly noticeable right now, however, I'm afraid that it's eventually going to get worse. So, I was going to order some Moleskin from TintProtector.com. Anyway's, I had a few questions regarding the Moleskin.

1. Is it hard to install? Do I need to remove the door panel to do so?

2. Is it worth doing it AFTER I've already tinted the windows? I'm hoping that by installing it, I won't get anymore scratches.

3. Is it really going to totally 100% eliminate ALL potential future scratches? Has anyone still gotten scratches after installing Moleskin? I just want to make sure it's worth the money before I shell out the cash for it.

If someone could let me know their thoughts on the above questions, that would be great.

Thanks much.

Jeff

I have felt/moleskin installed along with my Suntek tints I did recently.

I have rolled down/up my windows to my hearts content, and have visually inspected my tints, and they are definitely working and preventing scratches.

Mind you, you do have to use common sense like if you see debris get trapped in the inner lining, make sure to remove it soon as possible.

Not really too difficult.. there are instructions on here that you can follow... you do have to detach the door panels.. but you don't have to take them completely off...

2. Is it worth doing it AFTER I've already tinted the windows? I'm hoping that by installing it, I won't get anymore scratches.
I did... I did it a few days after I got my tints done (the place where I got my llumar tints didn't do the moleskin application..) I think if you put it on now, it'll def help prevent any future scratches..

3. Is it really going to totally 100% eliminate ALL potential future scratches? Has anyone still gotten scratches after installing Moleskin? I just want to make sure it's worth the money before I shell out the cash for it.

I got scratches right away on my pass side window the first go round.. but the place I got them installed were nice enough to re-do it for free.. they said if it happened again i'd have to pay $40 for it.. so that is when I opted for the moleskin... so far so good.. it's been about 3 months.. no scratches.. and i've been rolling all my windows upa nd down a lot due to the fact that it's summer time.

my recommendation is to just get it and go through the install... took me about an hour and a half to do all 4 windows.. - I took my time.

I was looking at the tintprotector.com web site, and it says that you don't need to remove the door panels to install the moleskin. Is this possible? I'm NOT very tech savy, and I'm afraid to yank off the panels on my 07 TSX. I would pay someone or a shop to do it, but I have no clue where to take it. Any thoughts?

I think that is true for the Acura TL... for the TSX.. you would have to.. I don't see how you can install them properly w/o removing them...
