How to remove the Printed Circuit Board on Acura 2004 TSX non Navi
Hey guys,
I understand that this problem has been addressed in the TSX community for some time now. However, there isnt one DIY tutorial out there. I want to make a Youtube video of me changing it for those that might benefit from it later.
I found an official installation guide from ACURA themselves here.
I found the PDF here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26104571/B04-021.pdf
Problem: Printed Circuit Boards burn out and Acura is aware of this for those that own both Acura 2004-05 with or without Navi's.
With your help, I can gather all the information here and eventually edit this post to include the video with step by step instructions.
From my understanding you need to do this:
Step 1:
Buy a new Printed Circuit Board from a dealership.
Part #: 3917A-SEC-A01
Price should be around $130.00. Rumor has it that if you do a "core exchange" they will reimburse you if you send ACURA the old unit back? Can anyone confirm this?
Step 2:
Remove Dashboard trim of your car:
Step 3:
Remove the Radio:

Is my understanding that the Printed Circuit Board is inside the radio? Can someone shed some light with this?
THank you so much! I will continue to edit this post as I collect more information from you guys and will credit you guys as we go along with this.
Thank you!

Could you clarify the circuit board you are talking about. Is this the circuit board that not only controls the radio but also controls the cabin A/C and other mode switches?
I did a search and the price for this board was around $1000. for the 04/05 models and for the 06 it is even more expensive.

Hi xelemental319, I applaude your effort to get this all documented.
I know this is 5 years later, but I'm hoping to do replace the printed circuit board in my '04 Acura TSX. I'm just wondering if you got any further and can share any updates. Also, the PDF link on Dropbox you shared doesn't work anymore. Any chance you can upload it again, or email it to me?
