GPS Not Boot Acting Odd

Hey Guys,

I have a 2004 Acura TSX, Navi Orange Disc v3.20a.

It is not modded or hack in any way. Yesterday it refused to boot. It would show the Navi splash screen, sometimes show the nag screen, but the OK button would never come up.

I tried popping the disc out, restarting the car and popping it in and letting it reload. This didn't do much. Right now I can get it to load sometimes, and when I do, the GPS function doesn't seem to be tracking correctly when I am driving. It shows I am half a mile or more away from the road I am really on.

I ran the Navi.ECU test and everything came back ok except the GPS had NG beside it. (One test out of the 5 I did came back with the GPS OK.) See pic below.

Has anyone had this issue before? Can anyone give me any insight as to what may be wrong?

I have a theory, but would like to hear from you guys first.

Thanks!

Your DVD player in the trunk may be bad. Alpine used to refurb these for $100 but last I heard they no longer support the 2004 model. You may want to contact Alpine to see if they can give you a replacement or refurb.

As RocketMan said, I don't know if Alpine is still offering refurb's for 2004's,
but here's the link to the thread which has the Alpine contact info:

https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-problems-fixes-128/help-my-navi-keeps-trying-reboot-677223/

Edit: One of the links in the thread I just referenced has a link to a pdf
which has the Alpine customer service number (don't know if it's still valid
or not):

> Alpine’s customer service number is 800-421-2284, Ext. 8888.

Good luck.
