I am having trouble with my fuel tank capacity. The manual says 17.1 gallon capacity. I have never been able to fill up with more than 14.3 gallons. This is after driving 55 miles (highway) with the "dummy" light on, which is supposed to activate at 2 gallons remaining. My dealer said to drive until I run out of gas to see how far I can go because they can't find anything wrong. Anyone else experience this.

 

Once the light is on, you'll have about 3.5 gallons.

There is nothing wrong with your tank or the light... the "dummy" light on the TSX comes on very early, much much earlier than any other Honda/Acura I've had.

Are you serious that your dealer told you to drive until out of gas? Either they are dummies or they are giving you some attitude...

The light actually comes on with roughly 4 gallons remaining. I've pushed it to where I filled up with 16 gallons. I'm not going to push it again though.

Thanks for the replies, and yes the service shop at my dealer is awful.

 

Good luck with any work you may need done at the service shop... might want to try a different dealer's service dept - one that you could build a good relationship with? Just remember building relationship is a two-way street
