Driving a manual when your shoe/sneaker is wet.....squeaky noise...
All,
Just wondering if you guys has the same issue. It might be the way I release the clutch. But this problem's been bothering me for many many years. I wonder if getting the racing metal pedals would help. Are they slippery though? Anyway, whenever my shoe/sneaker is wet and when I press in the clutch and when letting go, it makes that rubber/water squeaking noise (kinda like when you run a basketball court and come to a sudden stop). When my brother drives my car he doesn't make the noise when his shoe is wet. It bothers me especially when there are passengers in the back asking me what those noises are. Basically my sole is on the carpet and when I let go of the clutch, my sole stays, I just backoff my foot a little. How do you guys do it?

It's probably that the sole of your brother's shoe is different enough that it doesn't make that noise.
One thing that you could do to lessen the noise it to lift your foot with the clutch. Or keep a towel in the car and wipe the soles on it.
But really :whocares:
