I cant stand this fucking shit, i just made my soonest apt for dec 1st!!! and thats not even to replace them!!!
My radio lights now work but the AC lights are out, and yesterday i hit sorta of a pretty big ditch, and the lights all went off, including the lcd display of the chanels and shit. So i actually hit it with my palm and the lights went back on.
So im assuming something is loose in there......I HOPE i dont need ANOTHER new radio.
and i HOPE they dont blame it on my sirius sattelite install

I'm at 40 000km and since last week, the lights in the centre console has been going on and off while driving with my lights on. It's working most of the time but would go off for about 5-10 seconds and then come back on. I've been hit with condensation in my headlights also. This will be THE LAST Acura I will buy and go back to Lexus.

Count another non-nav LCD casualty. My HVAC, stereo amd clock lights all went
dark. Not our all the WAY, just too dark to see from farther than 2 inches.
I have a 2004 with 57,000 mi. I don't even want to THINK about what this will cost.

I had this happen on my 2003 Accord and going by posts on v6performance.net this is a common problem for them, too. When it happened to me, I replaced the car with an 05 model. This problem hasn't resurfaced with it.
BTW, only the Navi screen is an LCD. The rest are just quartz displays.

The head unit lights as well as temp/clock/station lights went out on my 2004 TSX/Navigation at 35,000 miles. My remote keyless entry stopped working at the same time. My drivers seat bottom also slides when braking and fast cornering. Service states it takes a week to get parts, We'll see.

Second time this has happened. Actually, I had mine replaced a month ago when my clock, Climate controls and HU went out. Now only the HU is out. I am going to make sure they replace it with a new unit instead of a re-manufactured unit

Display light and Seat Slip
Took car in today as clock, temp, radio light went out. The door locks would not work and drivers window would not work. All went out same time. They could not fix and gave me a loaner. Apparently the head unit went out at the same time as the other control unit went out. They advised 3 days and they are going to replace the drivers seat rails to stop the seat slip at the same time.

Question about where i can take my TSX in.
Hi, folks.
04 non-nav TSX owner w/ @ 18,000 miles
anyway, my lights just went out too. the lights that are in the buttons that go around CD player's main screen AND the ones in the buttons where the Heat/AC controls are.
bought my car @ Dealership 2 hrs. away and since i've never had to deal with car problems before... i am clueless as to how to take care of them.
my question is: is it possible for me to have my HU light problems taken care of at the Acura Dealership just 5 minutes down the road?
i don't mind driving 2 hours ... it's just, a 5 minute drive to get my car fixed sounds much more appealing to me.
thanks for your replies.

I have to interrogate the dealer to see if my 04 ever had this problem... I spotted some scratch marks on the "plood" trim to the right of the steering wheel. Makes me wonder if this was replaced already.
I wonder... if it happens to someone and they are out of warranty, if you make enough noise, do you think they'd replace it for free since it is such a widespread problem? I head this unit costs around $2500!!
If mine went out and it was not under warranty... I'd have to install brail or something because I can't swing that!

*sigh* 38000km and I turn to see the clock, h/u and hvac all blank. Hazard light switch still lights up though, so I guess it must be on a different circuit.
Guess it's a good thing it happened now as there's still 4 months left in the warranty. Between this; and the infamous creaking clutch pedal (assembly replaced twice now, and still creaking in warm weather); and the door panel rattle (again, only in warmer weather, fixed once eons ago, but has come back with a vengeance), I must definitely be one of the lucky ones. That'll teach me to get first year products.
The 325i/330i is starting to look more appealing every day. Wait, it's another first year model.
Merry Christmas.

Well burnaby, the 3 series has been comming from a line of past 3 series, only the design is generally differnt.
But yea, looks as if you missed most of the bad problems, as i think i have to. Creaking disapeared after 5k miles, radio has been out twice (ouch). but thats about it.

It could be worse. We have dead audio displays and rattles, while BMWs are catching on fire.

How many of you who replaced the HU have NAVI?

last night I press the cd/aux to turn off my lights. Well I kept the car off and listened to music for a while and so my car died. So I had to rock the car (6mt) to crank it up and once i did, the lights on the center console was off. So i hold down aux button again to see if iit'll turn on...NOPE....tried it several times again...NOPE...and guess what? I'm out of warranty...this is BULL.....and the unit cost 2500-2700 dollars....I dont want to fork over that much just to fix a "lights out" problem...any suggestions?

yeah i brought my car back recently. My HU's display light is out for the second time. last time they replaced it when my car had around 34000km. now my car is currently around 85000km and the service guy tried to help me to get them replace but the head office declined to give me a new one due to the expired warrenty. The service guy said they can take the HU out and fix it for me and it cost around 500 CAD. I denied cause 500 is alot to fix that god damn HU which will eventually be dead again around 40000km. And the service guy told me that a brand new HU cost around 1600 CAD. Acura sucks man.. plus my TSX is the 04 version, it's the first generation for the TSX so it should have more problems i understand that. Just sharing my experience with the HU. So guys if your HU display light is out and you're near 3 years / 60000 km, go do it as soon as possible or else you'll miss your chance like me.

Well, my console lights just burnt out for the second time today, and of course I'm out of warranty.
I'll call the dealer in the morning and let you know what happens...

My HU lights went out a second time about four months after it was repaired.
The first time I was about 5k miles out of warranty but made a small stink with Acura Customer Relations and mentioned, A) how many people here had the same prob, and B) that I knew about the service bulletin. "OK, we'll give you a one-time extension for this issue."
For round two, my service manager said the repair was warranteed so they fixed it at no cost again.

Gawd....my headunit lights were flickering Tuesday night for maybe 3-4 minutes, but never went out completely. This was on the way to drop off the car at the dealer for an oil change. I had them look at it, but they said it was fine so nothing they could do of course. Just hoping if mine goes out, it does it while under warranty.
