Display lights on my factory stereo went out twice
I just recently took my non navi tsx into the dealership to get the stereo replaced again for the second time. The lights on the stereo preset buttons and a/c went out. The first occurence the lights on the whole unit went out. They said my snhonda3 auxillary may play a factor in it and that if I continued using it would void my warranty. Has anyone heard or experienced the same problem. Thanks in advance!!

Happened to my '04 TSX at about 12k miles. All lights went out on the HVAC and audio controls. They replaced the unit (I had a loaner for 2 days 'cause they had to order a new unit). The replacement unit would flip back and forth between bright and dim (as if you were turning the lights on and off) about every 10-30 seconds. Brought it back again and they replaced it again (they had one in stock this time). 3rd time was a charm, no problems since.

Probably depends on your dealer, but I had a SNHOND3 installed at the time, and they didn't say a word. I'd just gotten the adapter installed by elduderino, actually, after the lights went dark, but before i got it fixed. I was wondering if I should take it in to get it fixed first, before having the SNHOND3 installed. He said that his also failed, and he took it in with amps and all, and they didn't say anything. So I went ahead and got the SNHOND3 installed before I took the care in... no problems at all.

my lights went out about two weeks ago, and i didn't even notice it until i was looking for a button to push. when you do notice it, it is kind of a hassle. even though i do know where most of the buttons are. i took it in today, and they said i had to wait about a week for them to order the parts. does anyone know how long it takes for them to replace the HU?

It sux but it's something that every1 @ Acura is aware of & it's not surprising to have it replaced 2 or even 3 times.

The first time my lights went out was around 23,000. The second occurence was at 31,000. After reading all the threads, I'm putting my auxillary back on. Thanks Y'all

Mine just went out at 28888 Miles. Both Climate control and Stereo panel lights went out. Both stereo and air still work though. Kind of strange to see so many people having similar problems.

Use all 3 Pedals at once
Mine just went out today while I was driving from San Diego...
I went to check the time and the clock wasn't there, neither was the display for the CD I was listening to...
I have ~56000 Miles on mine

IS THERE A PDF FILE OF THIS SERVICE BULLETIN ?
I have NOT been hit with this problem yet, but i am in the VIN range,
so can I or should I ask them to take care of it now ?
damn they use "re-manufactured" part !

My HVAC and radio button lights went out last night. I've got an '04 with 29,000 miles.
I had noticed these lights going out briefly once before (maybe a year ago), but this time they don't seem to want to come back on.
This is the first/only issue I've had with the car that I'd call a sample defect, so I can't complain.
I just hope my dealer will order the new audio unit without me having to go in and prove this is actually happening

referennce the TSB and refuse to bring it in unless the part is available

I called the service dept TWICE, referring to what the TSB says the second time. I told him they should have it in stock before the customer comes in. The service person told me I HAVE to bring the car in, so I made the 35 minute drive and he looked at it FOR LESS THAN A MINUTE, and I was on my way. I asked why I had to come in, and he said "we need the numbers on the radio." I was like whatever. He said they will install a BRAND NEW unit.

they tried to tell me that i need to bring it in first too. i dont think they realize that people have jobs that they have to go to and other responsiblities.

My service dep't also said I'd have to bring the car in before they'd order the part, regardless of what the TSB says.
But when I got there, it turned out that they had an audio unit in stock, so they were able to replace it the same day (without scratching the fake aluminum trim)
I also got a 2005 TSX loaner while they were working on it, which was nice. It was interesting to see the little differences from the '04. It was my first experience listening to XM radio, which I liked, but the audio digital display is kinda ugly IMHO.

Count me in as another TSX owner with that problem. I was surprised how the dealership didn't carry extra radios in stock eventhough the service bulletin gave them a heads-up of the problem.
Kinda sucks how such a "minor" problem can only be fixed by replacing the entire unit.

I've the same problem too, this is the second time where my display lights are gone. And my milage is now over 70000 km so the warrenty is done. I'm sure it'll cost ALOT if i have to pay and replace the center console. What if like after 40000 km the lights gone out again.. i'll be very upset. BTW, acura's service is not good at all. For the seat heater light problem they should not have that stupid rule "electrical parts are only in warrenty within 20000 km". that sounds like a scam IMO.
what should i do?
