Damage by Hard Bump ?
There was a piece of firewood-like log in the road.
like one of these:
Car at 10 oclock of me made quick move to avoid it but sent it spin-flying my way.
My left front wheel took it head on and result was a hard jolty thump.
I was at round 60 mph so I suppose it's like hitting a neighborhood road bumper at that speed.
There was no visible damage nor anything I can tell driving it.
What should I look for to make sure nothing is messed up or should I take it to
a suspension shop, have a pro inspect it under the hoist ?

If you don't feel any difference in the steering/control and you don't see any damage I wouldn't sweat it. The biggest problem would likely be an alignment issue, but if you don't feel anything in the next day or so don't worry.

I hit a piece of concrete the same way (couldn't avoid) with a GTI. It blew the tire and messed up the rim. I put the spare on and went to get it fixed to find out it messed up the front end. Most of the parts needed to be replaced since they where bent. With the spare the car seemed fine, but it wasn't. What you hit I would assume would do less damage if any but its good to have it checked out to be sure.

that's nothing! i was on the freeway to work, and all the sudden out of nowhere, something on the air, and bang.. on my driver side door and fender area! damaged and mirror is gone too.
this is y everyone should buy GAP for the finance contract. GAP will pay the difference between insurance pay out and your finance pay off.. if you owe more than the car's value, you pay the difference.

Recently I was forced to run over a cardboard box that musta come out of someone's pickup or something. i am not sure that it was empty, either. It went right under the middle. of the car (not under the front tires). I looked when I got home and two of the plastic support brackets that hold the O2 sensor wire up were broken (wire was hanging way down.. luckily the wire and sensor don't appear damaged). Also, the little access door cover on the big plastic cover under the engine was broken and hanging down. I've taped it and the wire up for now until I can take it in. I'm afraid to find out how much that big cover is to replace. Probably just under my $500 insurance deductible huh.
