Collector Flex Pipe is leaking.

So starting about a week ago I started to hear some exhaust noises, I have diagnosed the issue to be a faulty flex pipe as some of the weave looks loose and it now leaks. I am going to talk to DC Sports today however in the event that they will not warintee this I am looking for ideas to fix it.
1. Take header wrap and put 4-5 layers around the flex pipe.
http://www.mmrusa.com/HSwrap.htm

2. Put Jet Hot Coating on it.
http://www.jet-hot.com/pages/headercoatings.html

3. Pay a shop to cut the old flex pipe out and replace it.

Thoughts?

Did you weld the flex pipe to the flange prior to the installation?

no, I did not do this but I did not see any leaks. Are you talking about the cracking issue described in this pic:

In my tesitng it seemed to be leaking from the entire flex pipe, and not jsut at the end. I guess if I can have a shop weld this for 10-20 bucks it would be worth a try.
