My '00 Accord makes a clicking noise like a ratchet after I get the car warmed up...I was told it is a worn set of teeth on the pressure plate...had the noise for a few years now...they said it would go away if I installed a new clutch/pressure plate.

Since the clutch works fine I've avoided the replacement since it wasn't covered under warranty. I too ignore the sound. It doesn't bother me--I plan to install a new clutch and a lighter flywheel one day anyhow.

that switch is there so you can start your car. I would try a little lithium grease and see if that works.

Really? That switch is supposed to prevent you from starting your car if the clutch isn't depressed. Maybe the switch is broken and that's why it's clicking.

If you can start the car without he clutch depressed that switch is bad/bypassed. Do you have a remote start system installed?

Last I knew you guys actually have standards to let non-idiots drive cars.
The UK Acutally has standards for auto vs. manual. Maybe you don't need the idiot switch.

Oops, should have looked at the avatar info. US cars have idiot-proof items (DRLs, clutch switch, etc) that non US cars don't.

here's an update, I have taken a photo of the part which clicks, its the gold switch thing on the clutch towards the left (see red arrow)...there's a push switch that comes out as you depress the clutch..the quicker you depress the clutch the faster the switch comes out and the louder the click!....is this switch only used for the cruise?

i've sorted it.

I undid the lock nut removed the wire connected to the switch and took the switch out.....i think this switch is used for disengaging the cruise when the clutch is pressed...notice how we don't have the other switch at the top of the clutch which doesn't allow you to start the car without the clutch being in.

When u take the switch out you will see a black actuator which pushes in and out, this sprang out too fast and caused a click noise each time...i simply worked a fair bit of heavy duty grease into the actuator switch by pushing it in and out ( i used moly grease so it stays and doesn't run out).

There is no more click noise when i press the clutch now....it wasn't the spring or the Master cylinder....for those who have this prob please check to see if it is this switch that is clicking.

I have a '05 TSX with 1500 miles and yesterday it developed the distinct clicking noise that everyone here seems to describe. Mine most resembles what alnug described where when the car's off, when pressing the clutch in very slowly the sound is not noticable. But as I increase the speed I press the clutch, the clicking noise becomes louder. I think I can sometimes feel the point where it clicks as well. Taking it in first thing Monday to see what can be done.

I feel a click after depressing the clutch and then letting it out slowly. I now expect to feel that click each time I shift, and THAT is anoying. Looks like I will be seeing the dealer soon. BTW, I have 4500 miles on the car and I just started noticing the click about a week ago.
