Check behind your front license plate!

As I was washing my car over the weekend, I noticed that the dealer used pointed screws to attach my license plate to the front holder and in doing so, screwed right into the bumper!
On one side the hole went in relatively clean, but the other left a gouge in the bumper. Granted, this is behind the plate holder so you can't see it but i can't believe someone was stupid enough to use long, pointy screws.

I left a msg for my sales guy, but he is on vacation until the end of the week. I told him I wanted it repaired the next time I am in.

I'd be interested to see if anyone else has this as well.

Nope. I took my front plate holder off as soon as I got home from the dealership. My dealership also used fairly short, flat screws so I didn't have that problem. You definitely should push for your dealership to fix it.

I did that to my TSX. It's only a little nick though and like you said, it's behind the license plate holder so it will never be seen. I've already been stopped once by a cop for not having a front plate so I can't get away with it here in Toronto.

Dude, don't bother your salesmen - take it to the service department and bother them.

Happened to me too. I went back to the dealer and they filled in the hole, and touched up the rest of my front bumper too. The paint chips easily on this car.

I just want him to be aware, he seems like the kind of guy that would be aggravated that the prep guy was dumb enough to do it in the 1st place.

I had the dealer take the plate off upon delivery. Luckly I did not have any problems.
