Changing spark plugs
Agreed. What kind of mileage do you have on your car? The factory irridium plugs should be good for at least 100k miles (I think they recommend 110k, but don't quote me on that.)
As far as the tools, a standard spark plug socket and a long extension should be all you need to remove them. When you go to put them back in, I've found its easier to remove the little rubber boot from the socket, that way it doesn't come off the extension after you're done putting the plug in. And don't just drop the plug down the hole. You could ruin the gap that way. Instead use some kind of grabber, like one of those claw looking things. The ones with the three little claws that come out when you push the button on the top.

One of the "tools" I've used for spark plug installation on OHC motors is a short piece of rubber hose. I push it over the end of the plug, place the plug down in the well, and screw in the plug. Remove the hose and torque the plug to spec. I've also used the same hose to fish a loose plug out of the well. Don't forget to use anti-seize on the plug threads.
