I had that same problem. But then I realized the burner wasn't burning correctly. Since all my friends burned CD's worked fine. Got a new burner problem solved

Try burning the CD at a slower speed maybe 20x or 24x. The faster you burn a CD the sloppier. So just slow the speed down and you get a much cleaner efficient burn. Also your CD's will last alot longer if you burn them this way.

I have full CD-Rs and they play just fine. Other thing you need to avoid is CD labels.

Here's 3 recommendations:

1. Do not overburn the CD-R, I know the max. capacity for a CD-R is 700mb. (80 min). The CD player in a TSX cannot read anything correctly when the storage of the CD-R is bigger than 650mb (74 min). (Maybe 06' TSX can do it, don't know)

2. The speed of burning CD must be set as slow as possible. I always use 4X only, I found no problem at all.

3. TSX CD player can play CD-RW too. Don't want to waste money to buy CD-R.

I hope this can help you...........

Really? My 80 min CDs play fine in my 2005 TSX. I'm not sure however if I have played anything on the last six minutes of the 80 min CDs.

Ditto. I listen to a lot of DJ mixes and they are definitely over the 700MB level and they played fine.

I can vouch for TDK CD-Rs. I've never had one skip.

I think Fuji makes the best blanks out there. Had maxells, didn't play in the C36. Had HP, didn't play in the C36. Fuji, played them all.

One thing wants to clarify. My TSX is 04. Maybe 05 can play CD-R over 650mb. My friend has 04 TSX too and he gets the same problem with CD-R over 650mb.
Also, TSX can play CDRW, it is POSITIVE, my all 6 CDs in the deck are all CDRWs.

Blank CD-Rs are so cheap that I never use a CD-RW. If you watch carefully, you can get a stack of them for 9.99 with a ten buck rebate. So why put yourself through the hassle of rewriting?

It has nothing to do with the size of the disc. 74 min or 80 min, it doesn't matter. . It's just the brand of CD-Rs you're using. Memorex has been the best for me. With the burn speed, just slow down a little bit and you should also be fine. If it still happens, it's the shitty burner. Having to go all the way down to 4x is pathetic. Wasn't that the max back in 1998 or something? Also check the translucency of the disc. Hold it up to a light. If the light really shines through, get another brand.
