2006 Navigation disk v.4.73, locked-up
I burned (torrent) a Navi disk v.4.73 and a v.4.63. When installed, it goes through the process of download and then displays a locked screen. I push the 'map guide,' 'menu' and 'set-up/cancel' buttons to access the set-up screen, but nothing I've tried changes the locked screen.
Can anyone help me install/activate either of these disks? I'm upgrading from an orginal TSX v.4.31?
Thanks in advance for any help.
The locked screen looks like this:
(left side) "In Line Diag" underneath are 8 named green buttons
(center) a lg. sqr. "NG" button, underneath are 2 white icon buttons: 'voice' and 'back arrow', underneath is like a volume display.
(right) 2 long buttons: 'Continue Diag' and 'Exit Diag' underneath is a long button, 'xxxx Correct Pin', under that is a numeric key pad

The 4.73 navigation software introduced a newer copy protection scheme. You will not be able to illegally burn them. No one has done it successfully to my knowledge (at least through a web search . Essentially, the new software looks to see if the dvd is of a particular booktype. Only super expensive or mass production dvd burners can burn the type of dvd that the software is looking for. Even if you try to change the booktype data in your dvd burning software, the navigation system will reject the software download. Your only option right now is to buy the new version or stick with the older one.
Here's a quote from a user on a "less reputable" website:
"Hey guys it‘s not the ISO, the ISO is fine. It‘s just that Alpine/Acura has has implemented a simple check which checks for DVD BookType (DVD-ROM, DVD+R/RW DVD-R/RW) and depending on result it lets your navy run or give you a nag about incorrect disk. The original disk, which was manufactured on DVD-ROM media, will obviously return DVD BookType DVD-ROM, everything else burned will return DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW or DVD-RW, depending what media you burned on. If your Navi detects your inserted media not being DVD-ROM it will refuse to run and give you a nag. So bottom line is, it‘s copy protected."
