Hi all ! Before I decided to post I viewed a few older threads but only found some similar problems found in the TL forums.

To describe the problem the whole car vibrates at about 2500 rpms in 3rd and 4th gears, only at certain times. I had my tires balanced and rotated, no problems there.
I have always had a problem with the responsiveness of the accelerator but I think this is a transmission problem in my opinion. Car has just shy of 90'K miles on it - and I don't think the trans should be failing.
So I took the car into the Acura dealership, and took a tech for a drive- he recognized there was a bad vibration so he hooked it up to a diagnostic and could not determine what the problem was. I was informed to "keep an eye on the problem" and if I was really concerned they could work on the car @ $90 per hour.....they were stumped- no idea what was wrong with it
My question is are there any other TSX owners with a similar issue it seems the rpms jump around at the 2500 - 3000 rpm mark holding at a steady speed. The accler. Is just barely pressed, just to maintain a speed around 35 - 45 mph. Thanks in advance for any information, or direction to other form links I missed. Just seeking some answers - I try to take car of my car!

pop the shifter into neutral during the vibration, if it stops, then its tranny related.

Well it does go away when slipped into N, makes sense as it only happens when ithe accel. Is depressed to maintain a even speed. Seems it is the sensation when you are in stick mode driving in third gear , and you accelerate, lay off gas for 5 seconds then reapply pressure to accel, the trans engages.... Just feels like that sensation but it does it for like 10 seconds - and goes away if you stop pressing the accelerator

This is most likely the axle-joint issue we are all having with these cars. Light or heavy load causes a vibration in the streering at any speed. We think it is the inner joints that have the problem. We had replacement axles that seemed to fix it but they have not been consistently successful because of questionable quality. Some people HAVE gotten it to go away with new axles, but we don't have enough consistency to recommend our parts. New axles are EXPENSIVE.

I have this issue. It is very severe around 2,500 RPM's.. and acceleration AND cruising... I have vibrations.. If i step on it to give it gas while I'm accelerating, you can kiss your coffee goodbye as well as whatever your wearing.

I have this issue also. It was worse before flushing the transmission fluid. I did notice an improvement after having that done last week, but I think it did it again tonight. Sometimes it's hard to tell if it's just a bumpy road because the suspension is pretty stiff.

Are we talking about automatic transmission problems? Seems a couple people in this thread have ATs. Has anyone had this problem on an MT?

Yeah, automatic transmission. I think I did 'solve' the problem with a transmission flush. I read in some other threads on the forum about this problem being the result of the wrong type of transmission fluid. My car (new to me) had dark transmission fluid. I had the dealer do the triple flush and don't seem to have the issue anymore. The perceived vibration the other night, I am pretty sure is due to the crappy roads. Dang, I didn't known how bad the roads were before I got a TSX.

I don't feel that the issue with my car was related to the cv joints. It was only between gears that it happened. It seemed to be something like an internal clutch or an engagement problem in the transmission, where it couldn't decide between gears. And the "flush" (acura's way to change the fluid) seemed to solve the issue.

Alright, stopped by a tech guru, found out one of my ENGINE MOUNTS on my rear left side had broken?!

He showed me the damage after he replaced it, ($300 job including the part) and it WENT AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ::happy happy joy joy::

the old motor mount had ripped off the rubber housing and was just hanging loose.. any more driving and he said I could have ripped the firewall wires off and damaged my car seriously...

Recommend checking that out too...

That was a good find and thanks for sharing it. There have been reports of broken motor mounts here before, though they seem to have escaped being included as a "usual suspect". Those of us with older (05), higher mileage (133K) cars should keep this in mind.
