'05 TSX Leather

I was hoping somebody could shed some light on an issue I see with my leather. I have a 2005 TSX with the light gray interior. I purchased it a few weeks ago and it must have had this issue then, I just may not have noticed it. I took a few pics with my cell phone, but I can't add attachments yet. I can send them to anyone who thinks they can help. There is slight black discoloration on the seat that touches the love handle area on me. I thought it might be from my clothes or a belt so I grabbed a rag and a little water to see if it came out. It made it worse! So has anyone else had this happen? Will a leather cleaner fix this or does this have to be re-dyed?? I had read online that these seats are top coat dyed and my guess is the only real fix is having someone touch it up for me. Any thoughts or info would be helpful, thanks-

Thanks for all the feedback and info. Can't believe I'm the only one who's ever encountered this issue. Had a local guy re-dye it in about an hour for $70 and it is perfect.

So did you find out what may have discolored it? I have the same car (05 with gray interior) and haven't had any issues with it (5 years old this month and approaching 119K miles).

No, my guy said just could be typical wear on a very light colored interior like mine. The car was immaculate when I bought it, but did have 90k miles so obviously someone drove it a lot. I know they are top coat dyed and sometimes it will bleed through. Just more visibly on a really light color like the Quartz I have. I'm 99.9% sure the dealer had it sprayed prior to selling it, I just think they did a half ass job. I'm going back to my guy next week to have him spray a clear coat over the entire interior to prevent it from happening again. Pretty sure this is a step the stealer skipped to save a few bucks.

Odd. I have a 2004 with quartz leather and do not have any discoloration at all.

I guess bad luck for me. Not a big deal, this guy is good and fixed me up. As long as I take care of it I should have no issues in the future.

I've used leather cleaner and conditioner regularly, maybe that has helped. I've neglected it for several months now, though. I use Zaino.

Good to know, thanks. I'll keep that in mind for when I take care of the leather.

Whoever you bought it from may have covered up the discoloration. You getting in and out of the car may have worn off whatever they did.

Pretty much what I have come to realize. If the clear coated it like they should have though none of this would be an issue. Seems they did a quick job to make it look good, that's it. Once I'm done with it there will be no issues because I will take care of it how it should be taken care of.

I have the same problem with my leather and my car is a 07. Mine started when my belt started to rub against the driverside leather. I was gonna try to clean it but after i read this i had second thoughts. I'm actually planning on going to the dealership tommorrow morning to try to get it fix.

Same problem with my '08 w/37600 miles and parchment interior. I use Lexol Cleaner and Conditioner regularly - doesn't help. Also had the same problem with my '06 RL. I have learned to live with it.
