Love the OEM duckbill spoiler. That it’s not available through Acura dealers here in the U.S. has been annoying me for five years. As far as I’m concerned, it’s preferable to all of the alternatives.

you don't need a local dealer to order it through.
we can get it just fine here, just not directly through Honda.
that's what places like heeltoe automotive are for.

anyway, very clean car.
interesting to see Ron Jon rims over there in the UK.

yeah they do look huge in some angles....maybe i'm used to them now though and getting bored so may have them done a matt bronze or gunmetal as i am de-chroming the car when funds permit...also may get a set of 17's or 18's with some bigger tyres to try and kerb some of the wheel hop 19's create....want to go wider....17 or 18 x 8.5 with some 235 tyres maybe...

Those would be hot in bronze, you'd be a trendsetter - nobody's done that to Legends before that I'm aware of.

I'm surprised 19's create wheel-hop, however. By nature the 19's weigh more than 17's or 18's would (esp. with the Legend - RonJons are pretty but they're all heavy bastards). A heavier wheel should be harder to break loose from the pavement. I don't get it.

Great to read that your thoughts on right tyre sizes for right size rims.... The wheel spin u get is due to the iVTEC FWD syndrome...235 tyres helps, just take care of the offset issue and fender .

Sure, it’s been available through Mr. Heeltoe for a few years now. I’m sure many fans of the duckbill lip spoiler shared my excitement when he made the announcement. The excitement was fleeting, though – it only lasted until he got to the price. If I’m recalling correctly, he said he’d have to charge around $675. (Don’t recall whether that included shipping; it probably did.) I suspect that not many people have ordered it through him; it just seems like too much to spend for what you’d be getting. Before Mr. Heeltoe made his announcement, I briefly considered having a spoiler shipped to me by a Honda dealership in London, but again, I couldn’t justify the cost. (Don’t remember what it was, just that it was too high for me.)
If the spoiler was available through Acura dealers, I’d have one, and I’m sure many other A’zine members would have made the purchase, too. The lip spoiler for the 2004-08 TL – pretty much the same as the one available in Europe for the Accord (TSX), just not the right length – is available from hondaacuraworld and handa accessories for about $320. Not cheap, especially when you consider that you can get the M3 knockoffs on eBay for less than $100, but it’s a price I could palate.
I remain baffled why Honda (Acura) has never seen fit to make the lip spoiler available to us in the U.S. It’s not as though the OEM body kit hasn’t sold respectably. And seeing a lip spoiler on a TL certainly isn't uncommon.

for those who wanted to know i am from Oxford....about an hours drive from london....

as far as the ducktail spolier goes, i think i paid about £180 inc vat painted and it even came with an uprated trunk torsion bar so help lift the trunk with the extra weight of the spoiler lol.....i never fitted my one as it opened just fine. i'm wondering if i can have a chat to honda uk and see about exporting a few over to you...may need 5 people or so to make this worthwhile but i can only but ask and see what levels of discount they will do....p.m me if interested and i'll probably start of mini group buy as a couple of members of another tsx forum are also interested....

^ I'll buy all 5 or 10 or whatever myself.
that will satisfy that group buy you would need.
then you wouldn't have to worry about who is on board and if they're really
going to send money or if they are just saying so, and where it all will need
to be shipped and all of that.

group buys are notorious around here for a bunch of people signing up but
little to no people actually paying for the parts, the rest just back out or disapper.
send them all to me, and I'll handle the shipping and distribution once they get
to the US. otherwise I fear it would not go well.

and if people want direct shipping and purchases, just have them sign up in addition
to me. I wouldn't mind sitting on them for a while as people slowy decide they want them.

just an idea.

Hond-r,

May i ask you rear disc swap, anything else to change our simply a disc swap from stock to 313mm? Any adjustments to the rear stock brake calliper? Where & how much these discs cost a pair? Thanks...

Well i had to modify the brackets slightly for the euro accord but its a direct fit as far as i'm aware for the tsx. no modification needed apart from loosening off the e brake cables under your arm rest, fitting the kit, and then re adjusting to suit the new setup. they were $250 or so.
