Tuesday Afternoon...

My cousin just got a new Sony Alpha 350, so I decided to give it a whirl.
Removed my front tints, seeing how I got six tickets in the past three months, opposed to no tickets the other twenty two months having it.
(BTW, G & M both have tinted windshields and never got tickets, yet, assholes)
Also painted my calipers black today, but you can't really notice it in any of the pictures. Here's a few of the photos that I got around to semi-editing.

Stewie FTW!
Thanks for looking!

I guess cause I mainly drive in BK and when Im in queens its all highway then straight to the back roads. We should have a Queens mini meet sometime.. what do you guys think?

Summers coming up so I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of meets in Queens/L.I.(not just Acura, but Jeff always does something).
My cousins' 350Z GT & 335i were on the block but weren't close enough to get them in the shots. The RL is a recent upgrade from a modded '03 Accord coupe, so we shall see how that goes.

Ballers yea, we were playing basketball and then wiffle ball right before

indeed. very nice execution! definitely something to be said about going with oem wheels. very timeless, even in bronze. were you able to get a matching acura cap for those hfp rims?

what suspension are you on, btw?

So wait a minute. You had to remove your windshield tint, or front window tints? It looks like you only have tinted rear windows now.

IMO, I would either remove all the tint, or put on 35% all around. Having uneven tint is throwing off your car's otherwise really clean and slick appearance.

Consider putting some light blue Benz-esque tint on your car all around. You already have the Benz roof look.

Cops have been giving a lot of tint tickets all over NY lately. I have friends who never received tickets, receiving 2 at the same time (for both windows)!

Your car looks sick, wish I had money to make mine look like that

Center caps are from Silver Stars and the car is on Tein Comfort Sport.

I took off the fronts, was thinking about doing a "blueberry yum yum" style of tint, but I kind of like how the back windshield is dark. (Matches trunk and roof) I miss the tint already, sun is blazing!

That's my cousin's second M, first one was silver. He's dropped on Tein S-Techs with 20" FX rims.

Thanks for the comments guys, we might do a real photoshoot with our cars, hopefully at a nice location soon.

I think you could rock the blueberry tints on the four side windows and leave the back black. Might look sweet... you should try a PShop of that. Not many TSX's could pull it off and I firmly believe yours is one that oculd.

thanks for the info. but sorry, what are Silver Stars?
did you have to paint them bronze to match, or were they already bronze?

Silver Stars are 17" 5-Star accessory wheels that launched with the 1st Gen TSX (wow feels dated). They're gunmetal in color, so it's pretty much an exact match (99.9%)

Was looking around for any info on 'blue' tint, but no luck. May have to call/e-mail CJams and see what his opinion is.

Dude just take a drive in the Bronx, you can't go a block without seeing three tint shops over there, lol.

S14, I'm trying to get him to experiment with blue tint on a TSX because I think his car looks perfect for it... plus it would be better than the uneven tint look, IMO. rex your car will always look sick though, no matter what tint you use... love the two-tone look on a PWP!

If you need a tint guy let me know.. he is in queens and will travel... but I dont think he will travel out of State.. Long Island is the furthest he will go. Does good work.. I have all my friends and my cars tinted by him. And he should have your "Blueberry Yum Yum" but I will call him later and ask him for sure.

Very nice, the wheels flow perfectly with your car, just need a CF hood... wouldnt hurt to have your front lip re-painted either

Thanks again for the comments guys.

I'm in the process of 'finding' a new job so I won't really be modding anything else for now. I pulled the trigger on the 2006 ViS carbon fiber hood, but then I had to pay for the tint tickets, which lead me to pay off all my credit card bills, so therefore I canceled my order. I will get it when I have the funds though.

I'm seriously thinking about saving up for a Comptech Supercharger because I'm confident it can be done, since IMO the only complicated part is reflashing the ECU, which 06 AT are capable of. Other than that, the sensible thing to do would be to pay out for the rest of the car ~9K, but I do have 3 years left.

I would either repaint the lip or buy a EuroR front lip. The rear bumper needs some paint too. I would just hate to pay for it to get painted and then get messed up again, being that NYC is so shitty with construction almost everywhere. I can't wait for the time when this won't have to be my daily driver anymore and I can really baby it...

thanks again lots for the info.

i'm seriously considering these rims too, 18" but i'll probably go with the gunmetals instead of bronze...

so offset, rim width, etc. are all within acceptable limits? what tire size did you go with btw?

I'm running 235/40 series , but these are the tires I used on my A-Spec rims. These rims are 18x7 +45 so I would say you can either do 225/40 or 215/45.

rex., thanks again for the info and the quick replies.

from this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20434

it looks like the way to go, since these HFPs are 7" wide (like OEMs), is 215/45-18, as they are the closest in overall size to OEM rubber. it's just too bad that these HFPs weren't 7.5" wide! fatter tires on the TSX would really help out in the grip/handling dept.

that said, are there any 18" Honda/Acura rims that are 7.5" wide, that would work on a TSX? (sorry for the threadjack...)

No problem for the hijack sane, it's fun.

Both of these HFP wheels for the new Accord would fit and they're 18 x 7.5 +55
There are also 18 x 8 (+55 TSX, +45 TL ) A-Spec wheels that fit good as well.

Looked up some tint manufacturers to make Audioserf happy
There's SunTek HP 50 Blue, Madico 50 Blue, and JWF MBL50. LOL now to find a local tint shop that has any of them.

ok now i'm starting to confuse myself - HELP!

OEM TSX rims = 7" width and 55 offset.
if i go with CIVIC HFP rims, they are also 7" wide, BUT the offset is 45 instead of 55.

if it's 10 LESS than OEM, does the rim not go further INTO the wheel well? i.e. closer to the insdie of the car and further from the fender/outside of the car?

maybe it's too late in the evening for me to think of these things... i need sleep!

someone set me straight please! all day i was telling myself 18x7" HFP rims on a 45 offset would go further OUT of the wheel well and i was convinced... why isn't this making sense now???

Higher offset number = more tucked into the wheel well
Lower offset number = more pushed out toward the fender

Lower offsets generally look more aggressive because the wheels are closer to being flush with the fender. I would take the +45 offset wheel here over the +55 any day.

ya. i woke up and it sunk in. lower offset pushes the inner face of the rim closer to the center of the rim. i always knew this, guess i had a momentary brain lapse!

thanks guys.

hrm. not really feelin' those accord rims. and the TSX/TL A-Spec rims to me are just OK. but the HFP rims really set it OFF!!!

rex., when switching to those HFPs - or any other Honda/Acura rim, for that matter - does your TPMS still work???
