TSX with TL Type-S wheels

Finally have some pics to share. I don't have a digital camera so I borrowed my fiancee's and took these earlier today. I got the 2007 TL Type-S rims from a nice TL Type-S owner in KY.

What size tire are you using and are you lowered?

Perfect for a white car. Not sure about on a dark car though. Your TSX looks perfect.

^ A sign that winter's over

Thanks all! I was actuallly saving up for TC-005's but I found these for a good price so I couldn't resist.

I'm not lowered at all. It doesn't look like I'll be lowering it any time soon either since my wife-to-be doesn't want it lowered.

As for tires, I'm running 235/45R17s.

Wait wait, are you selling the car on eBay or is this just coincidence?

Thats a different car. Kuri owns an 04/05 the one on ebay is an 06/07. You can tell by the front end. I guess somebody else has the same tastes as him.

I like it a lot... I agree with another poster --- I think it fits the white paint very well. I think it would look KILLER if you got the JDM black window trim. To me, the chrome seems slightly out of place now that you have the "darker" look going on...

^ The TC-005's look good for sure. They were what first got me looking at the TL Type-S wheels after all.

A side view for dom:

Yeah, I know a few Acurazine members have these on their TSX's already.

Hmm... that's a good point. I'll make a note of that in my 'wishful mods' list.

still loving the dark wheels on the pwps though

a cheap alternative to the JDM black window trim (which is expensive, and you only get one shot at getting it right) is just using "trimbrite blackout tape"

there are many threads on the forum about the stuff. just search if you wish

I wanted to put these wheels on my CGP TSX but when i spoke to my acura dealer, he said the TL Type-S wheels are a full inch wider then the TSX wheels so they would stick out. Are you having this problem of the wheels sticking out?

The TL wheels are 17x8 +45 while the stock ones are 17x7 +55. So yes, they do stick out a little but not by much. They still line up fine with the fenders. I'll try to take some pics later.

The Weds TC-005 are awesome. See SeanS627's post earlier in the thread. They are lighter as well but they do cost a premium over the TL wheels. Quite a few members are running TC-005's.

Hehe, well as I said, they won't be for everyone. Hence we have such a large market for aftermarket and OEM optional wheels!

^ I should say that the TL wheels do stick out a little *compared to stock* but not by much.

^^if you could post some pictures of a side view to see how much they stick out, that would be great.

Okay, here are some pics showing the fitment:

Shot from the rear + shot of the rear wheel from top-down

Shot from the front + shot of the front wheel from top-down

See vilmar5's thread too as he's running 07 TL wheels. They're the same size as the Type-S rims: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38280

As for the ride, I can't really comment since I took the opportunity to get rid of the crappy stock Michelins. It has much more grip, and the ride is smoother (absorbs bumps better believe it or not), but the car seems to be more prone to tramlining. Though as I said, these changes are probably 99% caused by the tires themselves.

Nice! I don't recognize the place I've only moved out of Vancouver for over 7mths. Where is that?

PS: I'll be going back to Vancouver in end of June for my buddy's wedding. I've been asked to be the bestman.

Williebigz, wow those look great on a CGP too!

lilasiian8, no I don't have a camber kit. I'm still running stock suspension but from my last alignment, right rear was 0.3 degrees off spec so I'll be bugging my dealer soon.

cestmoi, it's a little townhouse/apartment complex so unless you live there, you won't drive into that little area.
