TSX (tank), CL (soda can). Accident pictures.

TSX was going straight...

CL crossed over double yellow line to make turn in to a parking lot, hit the TSX.

isn't it better that it got crumpled though? meaning that it absorbed the impact well? where as the TSX was just like a wall that the occupants felt the full force of the impact?

It doesn't appear that anyone in either of those vehicles would have been injured. The CL was not an unsafe car, and the TSX is one of the safest.

No Airbag deployment in either car.

Both cars were travelling fairly slow (TSX under 15 - 20 mph, and the CL somewhere around 5 mph).

A young woman was driving the CL.

in order for a car to habe appropriate crumple zones in a high speed collision.. i.e.- absorb impact on a 40 MPH accident. IT must be pretty rigid in low speed collision.

No that I am going to do it... The '06 bumper hasn't (yet) grown on me...

But would an insurance company even pay for an '06 bumper if I asked? I doubt it. They have to repair the car to pre-accident condition.
