What a crime, not even the decency to leave it on bricks/wood.

Damn dude that fucking sucks

Worst part, insurance won't cover the full cost of the aftermarket wheels

It does fall under the comprehensive insurance. So the rates will not go up

I wonder if he even had wheels locks on. That would stall a lot time for the thieves in trying to steal those wheels.

I think he mentioned he did have locks, but he also said they were replica wheels.

OK sorry if this is a little off topic. But how do theives still jack the rims even with wheel locks? My TSX came with the OEM wheel locks. Is that enough to prevent theives? If not, how do they go about removing the wheel without the right lock?

All it takes is finding some way to turn the lock nuts. There's a fair number of ways to make a one time use tool to do it. The locks are just a deterrent. If you ever want to be able to get the wheels off the car again there's no undefeatable way to secure them.

Most of the time people will just hammer a standard socket on over the wheel lock.

Those pictures hurt to look at. The only people I place lower on the totem pole of life than thieves are rapists. All I can say to this is "karma's a bitch". They'll get theirs... you just have to believe that.

Very sad.

This is one reason I never will spend money on expensive aftermarket wheels. The only time I got aftermarket wheels were for a snow tire, and those were cheap 50 dollar crap ones. Michigan salt, potholes, and Detroit thugs who steal cars and rims. It is just not worth it to spend 1~2k on rims. Biggest waste of money, especially where I live....

OUCH! It hurts to see that... Not only did the rims get jacked, it seems that the car will need some body work as well...

When I bought my '96 Thunderbird, the previous owner lost the locking lug nut key, so I took it to a shop to have them remove the old keys and put on new ones (I could've put the new ones on myself, but it was all included in purchasing the set of lug nuts so why not! lol)

That's exactly what the shop did. They hammered on a socket and removed the old ones. It wasn't the easiest thing to do, but it didn't take very long.
