Totaled 04 SSM TSX

Just glad to hear you're ok after seeing those first pics, man that makes my heart sink looking at something like that. Especially a car that the owner took time to select parts for and modify tastefully, destroyed after so much effort to build over time.
Good luck in dealing with the insurance company and/or lawyers. I agree with the previous poster that the lady deserves to be sued at the least.
I had to do it here to a lady who hit my previous car which was parked in a "hit and run". Witnesses got her plates, the shopping center had camera system in parking lots, I tried to be civil about it and just asked to repair the car. She cancelled her insurance to change to a new provider, so she didnt have insurance at the time. She couldnt pay the full settlement, and the lawyer is still threatening her personal property to this day.

good luck.
i got rear ended in my CL, stupid lady in her sable mom-a-wagon didnt have insurance, but it was during a white out and i got pushed into another car so it was like a pile up.
I had a $1000 deductible, they're (Liberty Mutual) still suing her for it to repay me (they send me ltters on and off saying "this is an ongoing effort and has been placed w/ collections) -- don't think i'll ever see it form her. I think i'll start harassing her grrrr..

Hey Guys... a word to the wise.
Now is a good time to double check your own insurance coverage to make sure you have uninsured motorist coverage and find out just how it really works. Also if you don't already know, ALWAYS get a police report and when you do incur some damage to your ride figure it'll cost you double what you think to get it fixed right. The sad but true facts about being on the receiving end of someone elses bad karma experience. Booooo.

A couple things -
1. glad you're ok
2. don't worry about it being totalled... I'm pretty sure that with a sub-$30K car they total it when the damage exceeds half it's value... and even with the $14.5K estimate you're there...
3. What kinda wheels are those? they look cool.... are they 18"s?

Thank goodness you're alive! Poor TSX. Sad sight to see.
I could use the stereo harness out of that F-150 if you get a chance though, since you should own it for her lack of insurance. I will take the training off your hands as well.

Glad you're ok.
Most of the time, insurance companies don't just look at the actual value of repairs to total out a car. They also take into consideration of liabilities after the car is repaired. Example, a car with extensive body damage (cosmetic), will most likely be repaired. However, a car that sustains suspension or electrical (wiring/ECU) damages, or fire, will most likely be totaled, due to the fact that insurance companies don't want people coming back 6 months later complaining that their repaired car now has electrical problems (which would end up costing the insurance company more, over time). Same with mechanical work. Insurance companies do not like working on cars that have a tweeked frame and/or cracked engine block/transmission housings.
Looking at the way your car is, there's a good chance that the transmission/block is cracked. If that is the case, there's a very good chance they will total it.

Hey man you dont want those wheels. They are definatly bent and messed up. I bought them from Wheelmax.com. I bought a 17" package and they were $730 for everything. Too bad they were on for a day. Luckily my insurance is going to reimburse me for the OEM kit and the Wheels.
