Summer Wheels and Tires on my 06 (56k, I hope you like to wait)

SO my friend called me today and told me he was doing some spring cleaning of his garage and asked me if I wanted to stick my wheels on so he could get rid of the boxes. I wasn't about to pass up the opportunity given the good weather we've been having so I went out there and spent about an hour getting everything ready and installed.

Impressions:

I like the look with the TL wheels. Gives the car a more sporting appearance. The wider tires fill out the little bit of space that was there with the OEM tires to make them flush with the fender in the rear and sticking beyond the fender ever so slightly in the front.

Tires are BFGoodrich G-Force TA KDW 235/45/17. They are infinitely stickier than the OEM Michelins and add a whole new dimension to the handling of the car. Braking is improved, cornering limit is noticeably higher and they do not squeal like the Michelins. Tire noise is also noticeably louder, but that's to be expected from stickier summer tires. There is a bit of vibration right now, which I am attributing for the moment to the tires having been stored since October without proper inflation, which might have led to some flatspotting. The vibration appeared to get less and less as I put more miles on the car so I think that if the problem doesn't disappear in a week or so, I'll just have the tires re-balanced and re-mounted.

Finally, pictures (additional pictures available via link in sig)

How much more do those weigh than the stock '06 wheels? I like the look but would not want heavier wheels. That's my only concern.

Hmm Looks good. Although, I do like the 06 wheels too, even though I love my 04 wheels as well.

I think they're roughly the same as the 04/05 wheels. A pinch heavier than the 06, but not so much heavier that the effect on acceleration is noticeable.

For me, the spokes are a bit thick on those rims. Not offensive though, they could just as easily have been the stock rims on the TSX.

why bother...i'm probably moving back to VA before the end of the year so I figure it saves me the trouble of having to get it done for a couple of months.

Actually, I like the 06 wheels too. I think they look pretty good on the dark colored cars. I just wanted something a little different and a little wider so that I could run better summer tires. Plus, I got a great deal on these wheels.

I like the look of the rims, and the slightly wider apperance. Are those pics with or without the A-spec suspension?

Without. A-spec suspension hasn't gotten here yet. That should go on sometime in April.

Not a fan of TL wheels on a TSX But I guess ANYTHING is better than the stock 06 wheels.

I took off my snows on the weekend, After putting on the first all season I was tightening the last bolt which happened to be the wheel lock and all I hear is metal breaking. Turns out the key and wheel lock broke. $100 later its all fixed.

Here's a pic of mine for reference. I like the TL wheels much better, the 17x8 and 235 tire look so much fuller than any of the 17x7 215 wheels

Here's Type S's dipped in chrome

Yes, I did, and they are now sitting in the garage replaced by the SSR.

On the 06, I don't feel like a body kit is needed as much mostly because the new body lines give the appearance of a body kit without actually having one. It is getting a drop soon when my A-Spec suspension shows up, so I'm looking forward to that.
