Some quick pix...

Dropped by my parents house this morning to say hello --- my dad finally left the TSX family, and said goodbye to his '04 ABP 5AT. Ultimately, he ended up staying in the Acura family, and picked up an '07 SSM TL-S (his other choices were a BMW 5-series or Infiniti G35 sedan). Anywho, snapped a few quick ones... no "posing" on shots --- just some pointing and clicking --- so don't hate on my amateur camera skills LOL!

The newest addition to the family:

Some shots of my whip (I really gotta wax her!):

Nice cars. I like your driveway. It's big enough to fit 4 more Acuras in there. BTW, what kind of exhaust do you have?

Flik Wasp 18x7.5" +42mm offset w/ 225-40-18 Falken Ziex 512 rubber. In total, they're ~4lbs. lighter than a stock setup per corner; the weight reduction probably nullifies the potential performance loss from going to 18's. I've had them for almost 2 years now, and my butt dyno doesn't feel a difference

Mixel has it... they're AP2 tips. I like them a lot, and they're straight bolt-on. I wanted something to fill out the back of the kit, and didn't like the cat back options available at the time I bought 'em. An acquaintance of mine picked up the Tanabe SMH, and the droning on the freeway was too much for my taste. I imagine that with a CAI, header, and freeflow cat, the SMH would be even worse. I was interested in the GReddy SP2, but can't seem to find anyone in my area that has one --- that would be the only other one I'd consider.

Btw... some blokes have asked... I fabricated the center caps myself, drilled them, sanded them down, paint matched them to the wheels (several coats), and then clear coated them (several coats). Lastly, I mounted OEM Acura emblems... and voila! Factory looking aftermarket rims

Yes - that is the correct pricing. I was very skeptical at first (and thought they may just be another WheelMax), but I have to say... their customer service was top notch. The shipment came in quickly, and was packed well. I was less concerned about the quality of the wheel itself because I had an acquaintance who had a set of Fliks on his Mini Cooper S for ~3 years w/ no problems (bends, pinched tires, wheel finish, etc.).

As for lowering, I'm on Tanabe Pro S-0C Type II coilovers... ~2 finger gap all around.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a Mugen grille and mounting an 'A' on it for awhile. I've seen other members on the "other" forum do it, and it looks nice... but my laziness has prevailed for some time now

Heh... white was such a CLOSE 2nd choice for me. I think I would be just as happy with it. Another member recently posted pics of his PWP w/ glossy black 5Zigens (same design as my wheels), and they looked wicked.

Nice setup. I just picked up a black on black with navi about 4 days ago. I am looking at your setup and I have to say is one of the best to my taste that I have seen so far. Nice clean look. I am also in NJ and work near freehold. I was wondering who did the lowering job and installed the spacers and rims? Also do you have any rubbing? I travel about 100 miles a day on the NJTPK and I want to know how the ride is after a setup like that?

One more thing, are those dealer installed rear, front and side skirt kit?

They're a little pricey ($50-$60 apiece)... I ended up getting them from H and A for a little less during one of their sales. You have to make sure you specify '04+ though... the AP1 tips are round - not oval.

Thanks! I had the coilovers installed by a shop in Edison called Stage 2 Performance. I would've done the install myself, but I got the coilovers in February '06 --- it was colder than a coal digger's nuts outside, and I couldn't use my garage (filled w/ stuff)... I didn't want to wait until spring.

There are no spacers on the car. I put the rims on myself... it's just like changing a wheel, and I've never rubbed... ever.

I've said many times... I feel that the Tanabes are as close as you can get to the stock ride while offering you improved performance and height adjustability. IMO, they feel just a tad firmer than the OEM A-Specs. I have experience w/ A-Specs (my 1st setup), Tein Basics (my cousin), and Tein SS (friend). That's not to say that any of the other options such as the Teins ride harshly... but they feel SIGNIFICANTLY firmer than the Tanabes (including the SS on the softest setting).

I installed the lip kit, which is OEM... it's a little time consuming, but easy.

Nope - Type II Pro S-0C Type II coilovers

Btw... not to get OT, but do you put on a rack during board season? I'm already wishing for snow so I can get back up on the mountain...

Thank you for the info.

Is the body kit OEM and dealer installed? I am looking at getting an OEM body kit but I am not sure if it’s the right way to go.

Yes, it's OEM. I installed the kit myself, but the dealership can do it for you --- keep in mind that they generally charge a ridiculous amt per hour in labor, so if you're not comfortable doing it yourself, you may want to find out if there are any shops in your area that will give you quotes... or you could always see if there are any forum members in your area that would be willing to help you out. If you end up doing it yourself, my only suggestion would be to get a friend for the the front lip, as it gets a little tough to support both sides when mounting it on.

Thank you for all the help. I am a newbie and I am looking at doing some upgrades to my car but I don’t want to buy the wrong thing or pay too much for it.

I like doing thinks my self, so with that said I will be installing this kit my self. Do you have any tips for me?

How long did it take you?
Any drilling needed?
Any special tools I need?

Thank You Once Again.
