Good job, too bad it will only last about 2 weeks. NXT has horriable durability from what I've heard. Did you clay first?

Does it? I just got a free sample of it at the Champ Car race in Portland, and was going to give it a shot. If it doesn't last though, I may just stick with the tried and true clay/polish/wax combo. Too much damn work to have to do it again two weeks later

well, unfortunately i live on a very busy city street (with no garage parking), so the fact of the matter is if i want my car to stay sharp looking i'd have to wash it more than once a week even. 2 weeks passed between my 1st and 2nd wash & wax, but on the 2nd wash, i could definitely tell that water was beading better than it had before.

how else is a good way to test if the wax is still there and working?

i didn't clay first because i still haven't gone out and really searched for a place around here that's got a claying kit.

Walmart, Clay Magic...

Best way to tell is right after a wash. You know the wax is still there if its slick to the touch.

Yea, take a look at the wash and wax section. Their were a few things here and there about durability issues. I've heard about it on autopia as well...

Do you guys use buffers or do it all by hand?

I am strongly considering purchasing a buffer if it is recommended.

The buffers is only needed to buff out swirl marks and imperfections when you are polishing. Or... if you have oxidized paint. However... if you choose the clay your whole car and it hasn't been done in a while, the clay bar may create surface swirl marks. So... you might have to buff anyways...
I only use my porter cable to buff. So... everything else like waxing, i do it by hand.
