nice pics dom. Was that with your camera?

What about a pic of the two of you together? :gheyfight:

I love it that they left the stock shift knob in there

Those 3 wheeled civics are crazy. I wonder how far they are from rolling? .. or would traction give out before they rolled

The last 4 pics were with Dan's PowerShot A70 and the first 8 were with my S500.

Dan has some more pics that he'll hopefully be posting.

Those Civics were fun to watch. The picture doesn't do it justice how high the inside rear tire lifted off in that corner. Easily 4-6" and sustained for most of the corner. Many people slid off the track at the exit because they were carying too much speed.

Great pic domn, thanks!

Actually you can kind of tell how low the RTR TSX is considering the roof is only 10" or so above my waist.

Enough of that picture, lets focus back on this one:

There were some good looking ladies all over the place. Maybe one of them grabbed Dan's attention. Or maybe it was the 3 Cadillac CTS-V's that were directly across fron the RTR traliers. Those things are badass.

Plumb takes the lead late in the race and they would finish in that order

The damage

More damage (some guy stole that skirt later on )

Not your typical interior but as domn mentioned, they kept the stock knob

Cool dashboard! Also note that the seat has been moved back about 10-12" for better weight distribution.

Love that ass...

This car sounded amazing! Didn't look to shabby either... :P

The S7 performed pretty well and sounded like a Harley on steroids

This is the only side you're likely to see if you see one on the road

Parts for the next car

The engine in this car was amazing. It must top out at 12,000+ rpm. It gave me shivers when it went by.

And that's about it!

We've got to get some more people out for the event next year. Seriously badass day.

Judd V10

It's roots date back to F1 when Dallara used this engine back in 1991 with Emanuelle Pirro and J.J. Lehto. Brabham used it also in 1992, and so on.

In F1 applications, these engines were capable of 16,000rpm and 700bhp.

In ALMS, these engines in 4L form are giving out 600hp at 10250rpm

Pierre Kleinubing to the right in the grey golf shirt. I guess he was assessing the damage.

dzuy, he was hit from behind and pretty much driven off track. He actually got hit right at the beggining of the race in a mix up with Peter Cunningham (Team owner) and then was driven off in the first turn I think by one of the Turner MotorSport BMW's

They're SSR Comps and they're crazy lightweight.

Nope. Closest they'll get from your place is probably Road Atlanta down South or Lime Rock Park, Ct.

This should give a pretty good idea where they sit - find the driver's head!

Ellsworth, were you at the race? Looks like you were sitting not to far from where Dan and I were. Actually looks like you may have been a photographer?

Yes, I went on the Sunday - for the Touring race I was drivers left about at the exit of 8.

I'd be stretching the point to call myself a photographer, but I did have my camera with me. I didn't do much sitting - I was with a group sitting but I was standing and using a monopod (one-legged tripod).

Friends of mine had their motorhomes parked outfield at 8 so I started out there and wandered around. Didn't feel like driving and it was too hot to walk a long way so I only got to turn 1 and back.

The rest of my pics are at http://www.pbase.com/ellswrth/alms

It was neat seeing the RealTime cars in the Touring race - (I'm involved with a lot of different racing activities so I'd kind of forgotten about them) - I took delivery of my own TSX on Wednesday so it was a variation on "Win on Sunday, buy on Monday" - more like "buy on Wednesday, win on Sunday". I'm looking forward to being offered a deal on an Audi R8

Be sure to take some picks of that R8 when you get it...

Great pics! I'm going through them now. You must have a good telphoto lens on your camera. I saw a lot of the professional photographers with the monopods and I thougt that's a pretty slick setup. Certainly makes a lot of sense for racing events.

Well now that you've got a TSX you'll have to come out to our next meet, whenever that may be.

Well, I was experimenting with settings - this was only my third attempt at shooting racing (I only got a camera - my first! - in March.)

It's a Nikon D70 digital SLR, and I can get the equivalent of a 600MM lens between my 200mm lens, and my 2X teleconverter, and the 1.5 relative factor that digital SLR's apply to a lens.

These pictures aren't nearly as good as the camera is capable of, and I can do better too - that image isn't in clear focus. WARNING 6MB!

http://image.pbase.com/u39/ellswrth/...ST_R20009r.jpg

If you want to see a SHARP image, have a look at this one

That pic can be printed at 11" X 17" ... but I've only got a handful like that so far ...

I'll keep the meet in mind - would be fun - guess there's a lot of people here from TO (sorry to hijack the thread, guys!)

PS for those who like three wheeling Civics, there's more of them here

http://www.pbase.com/ellswrth/honda_michelin

Ellswrth, that 6mb photo of Plumb is amazingly sharp! It's like you were 2 feet away from him. It's hard to believe you were shooting a moving object at a distance.

Domn, let me know when you can get a deal on a EOS 10D kit.
