Got the full mugen aero-kit on the way for the 2007 TSX so that means that enormous handbag esque spoiler to replace my duckbill on the rear lid.

Thankfully it's the same 2.0 that's in the UKDM Civic Type-R, so engine mods are easy to do, think you folks are running a 220bhp 2.4?

Aye, my front calipers are red, stand out just nice from the wheels.

Standard bulbs in the fog's actually, was going to change them for some decent H11's next month.

I've seen a few threads going on about the duckbill spoilers so I thought I'd pop up some pics to show they don't even fit on the UKDM model.

And I just noticed there's a spot of RUST on my car, looks like I'm going to the dealer ship tomorrow for a new boot.

You have no idea how jealous we (in the West) are that you get stock clear turning blinker headlights

I'm still riding the fence on getting '06 JDM headlights for my NBP but the $1000 CDN price tag stops me everytime.

I'll grab some day time shots as soon as I've cleaned the car, thankfully we're now getting more than 7 hours of sunlight a day so I can probably find the time mid-week to grab some snaps. Just need to find the motivation to wash her!

Well, here's the rust!

I also just noticed the shoddy finish on the spoiler, and it's stock too!

As per the other thread, I suspect you'll be looking at nigh on a full respray.
Make sure whomever the dealer uses, puts a good number of coats of clearcoat on it.

Also, if you are flogging that ducktail, gimme a shout.
We can discuss it over PM here or THAOC when you join.

Where do you ordered mugen body-kit? And, if you don't mind, how much does it cost?
Thank's!

I imported mine from a dealer in Japan, I've got a few contacts over their from business dealings so I've managed to get the parts direct and for a tidy sum less than I'd have paid if I'd imported them using a supplier.

I'm currently running somewhere in the Ł2500 as an estimate after all applicable taxes and shipping which I don't think is too shoddy!

Yeah, just hope they come back with a positive, if they say they can't do anything for whatever reason I will be kicking up a fuss like no other.

My Accord has the K20A1 that features in the UKDM Civic Type-R where as I believe the USDM TSX has a 2.4 with similar power-output?

Ł2500 is just to keep me covered, I'm hoping it comes in closer to 2000 but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

K20A1 in a UK Accord ? Did you do an engine swap ? I was under the impression that the 2L versions in all Accords across europe are the same (K20A6 with 155hp from 2003-2005 and improved K20Z2 with same HP but much improved torque band from 2006 up). Here's a link (these same engines are used in the 7th and 8th gen Civic for the Asian domestic market) :

TSX 208 (2.4L)
UK Accord 187 (2.4L)
UK Accord 151 (2.0L)
UK Civic Type R (197) (2.0L)

All figures corrected for bhp, not PS/DIN/SAE as per spec sheets.
1PS=0.9863 bhp

Exactly... So either there's been an engine swap to the 2L from the type-R or it still has the K20A6 with 151hp...

You sure about the 208 hp of the TSX ? Isn't it 208 bhp ?

Bizzare, the VIN plate on my car states the engine is a K20A1 rather than the A6 but I'll double check and post a picture as the performance has always seemed a little "off" if you ask me

And I mean "off" as in, sub 200, more like 160

I've just always assumed it was the crappy gearbox rather than the engine itself.

Hey-ho I'll pop out just now and have a check!

Since the spec sheet for the TSX on Acura's sites show as 205 (SAE net), then 1/0.9863 x 205 = 208.
It's always been stated that the TSX has 210, but now that I think about it, I can't recall whether it was bhp or hp.
If the latter, then that means I'm wrong and it's actually 205 x 0.9863, which equals 202 bhp.

Anyone with '06 or earlier brochures handy? What's it say?

PJS you're right, the 2.0 is listed as 151
Autodata lists it as 157

But my engine code doesn't match that in Autodat as it states it's the K20A6 but my vin says A1.

I'm confused

Actually, it's shown as 153 PS on HUK, and 153 bhp on What Car's site (and presumably magazine).
151 is the true bhp after conversion from PS/DIN/SAE/HP. But because 1 and 0.9863 are so very close, often the measurements are just swapped one for the other.

That´s why I said I was confused. that car is obviously a stock 2.0l euro accord and not a Euro-R. our 2l cars are rated@155hp and we don´t get the Euro-R here in europe either.

and not only is it more like ca155hp but it´s also got a economy Vtec similar to the 96-00 1.5LSi civic(Vtec-II equipped)

so it´s by no means a performance engine it´s meant for good fuel efficiency and low emissions!

Sorry to have broken the 'bad' news to you, Unclescar :-) I'm curious about the VIN plate also. Nevertheless it's a very nice car. I'm in my second 2L now and never experienced the K20A6 engine as 'underpowered'. Big improvement on the 06 (K20Z2) because of the better torque band.

Arr it is a K20A6! Popped by the dealers today, it appears my engine-bay VIN plate hasn't been stamped properly so it's getting replaced!

Oh well, it's just an excuse to super-charge the thing.

On the economy v-tec comment, I don't agree with this in whole, as this is the third Honda I've owned, I started on a 1.6 EP1 Civic Sport that had economy VTEC in it's crappy 102PS SOHC engine.

The CTR had full blown I-VTEC which was niiice...

The Accord-Sport still has I-Vtec but is clearly lacking the same V-Tec Profile but I wouldn't in any way describe it as "economy" especially not comparible to the literal economy V-Tec system that existed back in the 90's

Regardless, I'm a little less annoyed at the car now, knowing that there's nothing wrong with mine and it's not the same engine.

I'm going to print off the tech data from AutoData 3.17 and compare the A1 and the A6 as I'm curious of the actual technical variances between the engines.

Regardless, she's my baby and I love her!

doesn´t matter if you agree with me or not. the engine is an economy engine it does not have the high lift vtec that the 2.4l engine has, it has a vtec system that works like the older systems with i- attatched to it, on lower rpms it almost closes 1valve per cylinder and works like a 12valve engine creating a svirl in the combustion chamber and some mumbo jumbo and runs some sort of lean burn efficiency. when you step on the gas it opens up the valves and uses all 16 to breath better up top but does not have the high lift lobe that the Tsx/Euro 2.4l engines have. all though it´s not as anemic as the smaller older engines that were equipped with the vtec-e and vtec-II it still is like them only more advanced and bigger more powerful.

but beeing the engine that it is I believe it is almost identical to the ep3 civic si engine and there for you should be able to use a supercharger and turbo kits made for that car, but then you will run into the same problem all of us have and that is we don´t have a way to tune so it doesn´t really matter as of yet

Must say I don't agree on the K20A6 being a 'economy' engine. Check the link I posted earlier in this thread... It's the same engine used in the Civic 2.0S for the Asian market and it and it's succesor (K20Z2 in the 06- Accord) was targetted as the 'top acceleration in its class'. Hardly a title for a 'economy' engine. Power nor fuel consumption of these engines falls within a economy labled engine. Not that it really matters...
