I like your pic, acc! Obviously, you are not a vegetarian.

Ricecake:
(1) Wouldn't do it myself, would leave it to them
(2) Too lazy to do it anyway
(3) My computer is a Mac -- no such thing as "right click" on a Mac!! (Did you know?)
I'm sure there's a way to accomplish the same thing, but I'm happy not knowing.

imho, anyone who takes the time to weed through a car site specifically looking for pictures of people has enough time to figure out how to find the URLs of pictures he has found. and post them. don't be a tease.

Actually....this was during one of those earlier times when our site was feeling its way around, and sometimes people would mention a-cl as sort of a model, and I was browsing it in general, to see what it was.
Come to think of it we still are sort of feeling our way around......
BTW I like being basically computer-illiterate. It helps me remember my age.

Yeah, not too bad, but this thread was reported to me as being offensive. I don't think it's particularly bad, esp. considering many of the other threads in the site, but I thought that I'd at least make a post, as opposed to doing nothing or the more extreme action the person requested.

First of all you have to consider the source, whoever it was. I guess you thought the source was a meaningful one.
Second, do you know exactly what the complaint was? It certainly isn't obvious from this thread what the objection might have been.
My best guess is the complaint was just that the thread is NWS -- in which case a mild scolding does no good; what would be needed is an indication in the title of the thread, as some other sites do.

unless you are vegetarian (see acc's pic) or severely in support of gun control, this thread seems really, really tame. it's almost funny because usually a "post pics" thread has a ton of posts, and there are really only a few here...
(Stokeless, n an answer to your previous question, i think some of us gals don't want to post our pics because the site isn't password protected anymore... )

yeah--if someone who doesn't need a login/password just to read what's posted here, they have access to whatever's posted, including member's pics. that way, it's hard to tell if someone's "lurking" (i.e., not posting but reading)--and if they see a picture, a look at the picture's "Properties" will give you the URL of where the pic is uploaded. I am not saying that I'm soooo good-looking that anyone wants to stalk me, but it's one of those things that you kinda have to think about. i have had acquaintances who posted things like pictures, other information, and it ended up in the wrong hands and was used against them by people who didn't have to register to see the forums in questions.
I used the term "password protected" as shorthand for "can only view the forums if registered." my brain is clearly not functioning today.
anyway, just my little

But if they really wanted to see the pics in a thread, all they would have to do is register, which takes 3 minutes. If you or anyone else is uneasy about non-members seeing pics, I would'nt post anything. Someone could easily register and who knows what kind of people are already members
