Kodak DX7590

biker seemed to think it was a crappy camera, although I had said I was taking the first snapshots and was discovering the cam. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14962

Here are a few pics taken by my wife and brother to make up for the bad speedometer pic.

My brother took a close-up of his car key.

Obviously, we're still just skimming the possibilities of that camera, but I'm pretty glad with it, I wasn't expecting as much from it. I'm trying to convince my wife to take photography courses since she really seems to enjoy snapping at everything. Then maybe she could really exploit the camera well.

Don't listen to them sauce...us high mileage TSX'ers have to stick together (I'm nearing 30k miles on mine).

I personally have the Panasonic DMC-FZ10 and love it to death. Can't beat the 12x zoom!

Here are a couple of pictures I took this past weekend while down in Florida.

A Rose

Some Water Sports...

Keep on shooting!

Nice sharp pics sauce - don't listen to anyone.. (i especially like the 4th one with the bug on it)

wiz: Almost bought the FZ10 before deciding on my Minolta DiMage A1. The size and weight are probably the worst part of both (other than being somewhat complex), but they yield some nice pics.

Now I just need to buy a small pocket-sized camera for traveling and parties...

Great pics fellas. Nice and sharp with lots of detail. Digital cameras have come so far. We took our new (then) Sony DSP-72 to Japan with us and shot a lot of 3mp pics. Printing 4x6 prints from these pics you can't tell whether they were taken with a digital camera or our old 35mm. Its good enough for our purposes.

Wiz, you know, I came really close to buying that exact camera you have, but the guy at Circuit City was just so clueless I couldn't get a single answer to my questions, so I decided to play it safe and stick with the Kodak. But I was attracted to the 12x zoom like a magnet.

Dabuda, I hear ya for the nightime shots, I have tried in vain to take a nice snapshot of the moon or other objects, and the results so far have been worst than poor. Maybe when I buy a tripod it'll help, but the focus/snapshot button is a little tough, and depressing it forces me to move the camera ever so slightly.

Anyways, thanks for the nice comments folks. I came off pretty lucky, because upon the purchase of the camera, I was expecting some sort of guidance since I knew nothing more than what 5mpx and 10x optical zoom meant. Seems like I didn't head the wrong way after all.

hey dabuda, i have that same camera. i love it! my only complaint is that you need a tripod when shooting night shots. the zoom is awesome though. Take this for example...

Very little zoom:

Full zoom (not digital):

Yeah, the FZ10 is kind of big, but it is a great camera. You all mention night time shots or shots with low light not coming out due to camera shake, that is the one reason why I purchased the Panasonic. It has IS on it that stabilizes the lens even if you're moving to give you a clearer more in focus picture. I've taken a lot of low light pictures before and some still dont' come out, but most come out and are even printable.

Great pics all.

yeah i know what u mean, i got the tripod for it but the nighttime shots still have a lot of noise. but after configuring with the settings i was able to take some decent ones like this but u can still see some spots where the black is suppose to be

btw, i thought camers werent allowed in concerts? my gf tried to sneak mine into a josh groban concert once and they confiscated it.

yeah, they aren't allowed, but I put it in a binocular bag, and I guess they just assumed it was binoculars.

That's pretty much true of any camera. You typically set up night shots with slightly longer exposure times. Because the lens is open longer, it picks up more vibration in your hands, and the lights make it more obvious.

My A1 is supposed to have some wizbang IS, but many of the low light shots come out blurry. Seems to help in other situations, but night shots really need a pod or a solid surface..

(I still come out with some noise as well.. maybe if I knew what I was doing I could tweak the settings)
