Japanese Car Toys
Not much to show here...
May seem silly to some of you but it''s an Asian thing...to put decorative touch to personalize one's ride.
Pillow - nice & plush - the character is called Doraemon the Robot Cat, it's like Japan's Mickey Mouse
My favorite when I was a kid. Couldn't get enough of it, besides the transformer robot giants...
Japanese Safe-Driving Charm.
Took me a while to find.
The cat character is traditional Japanese fortune symbol.
The little bright red tassels make good contrast to the austere ebony interior. Love it.
I am waiting for a guy in Japan to find this traditional New Year tarisman thing made with origami paper & straw & Kanji-characters "Traffic Safety on this Car" that they put in car for blessing etc.

I got one traffic safe charm from Meiji Temple in Tokyo. Not as exaggerating as yours. I keep it inside the manual folder. I can take a pic tonight.
That charm you have is bit too big, don't you think? It might hurt you during a car accident. Poke you right in the eye. And no commend for that pillow... It's not gonna reach in its little pocket for some fancy gadgets

Oh, no...not big ! it's was just a close shot! lol
It's about the size of a floppy disk with a suction cup on one end of the string.
Specifically for attaching on the glass below rearview mirror.

Holy crap, I haven't seen that one yet! I used to watch Ding-Dong (what was the yellow/female calle, Ding-Ling right?) when I was in Hong Kong. There are a few shops here that sell that stuff buts its unreal hard to find in Hawaii. At least I think so or I'm looking in all the wrong places. Anyone remember a charecter from Asia that was a little girl or robot that had a hat that said Ariel I think? I used to watch that as well and I can't remeber what it was called. Sorry, thats a pretty bad desription!

Oh... I also have a neko in my car as well, not anywhere as big as that one thought, its hanging form my rear view mirror as well. IF you ever visit Hawaii (or Oahu), almost every car has something like that hanging from their mirrors, though I'd say 8 out of 10 people have no idea what their charm means. I've seen people w/plastic banana bunches hanging from the mirror as well.

No, actually I've never seen a car here w/a hula doll, Sorry, as stupid as this sounds but I dont own a digital camera or even (gasp) know how to post a picture online. What I'm refering to is that alot of, not to generalize certain cultures as my wife is Filipino, but alot of Philipino drivers have religous trinkets that have like a picture of the virgin mary or Jesus. Not saying anything bad, but its not a small trinket mind you. Or you get your highschool students w/their tassels on the mirror. Its just that almost every car here has something-no kidding! I'll stop at the neko though, distracting enough as it is. Oh, its hard not to laugh at the ones who hang the CD from their mirrors!
