Here's a pic of my car slightly dirty last summer after a rainy drive up to the lake...

I'll try to get one when it gets dirty this winter, but it never gets bad here in Atlanta... (although it was 13F last night)

It's always better if you can find a place where you can handwash it inside. There are some gas stations that offer this. Then you can rinse, bring along your warm water & soap, wash with your own stuff, then re-rinse with their pressure hoses, and you'll be better off. (IMO)
So between the cloth and touchless carwash, which one is better? There's a Petro one close to my house but I find it very crappy, it always leaves dirt on the car and gets through the dryer in about 15 seconds, so I I have streaks all over the windsheild. I find the touchless one very thorough and generally leaves the car cleaner. Also I think chances are greater of the cloth one scratching.

I know the BEST carwash is handwash with a soft cloth and warm water, but in the winter that's just not an option for me.

Mojo, you still in the mud out west, or is that the potash they told us about in high school?

At any rate, you are now in the lead hands down for the dirtiest TSX!

But wait, I have some more filth of my own coming up soon.

OMG Major! that's one dirty TSX

I've got some salt on my car from Monday but not as much as domn's. I was hoping to get more salt on to take pics this weekend but it is supposed to rain tomorrow. Now I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

It's basically just road slush. I don't know about any potash, I think they forgot to tell us about that in high school. In Sask, maybe?

In all honesty, the credit for this entry has to go to missusmojo, it's all her doing. :P She has a little "commute" once a week 260 km each way, mostly on two-lane hwy. I think most of the grime comes from the big trucks when the roads are wet and slushy. That's basically one day's worth, the car was clean in the morning when she left.

Photochop, yeah right. I wish.

You know that old saying about "he can't win for losing"? I think I just did. Now I'm not sure whether to celebrate or cry. Either way, you all owe me some rep.

Wow...one day of commuting resulted in that?

How does one see at night with the headlights caked in mud like that?

Well, if you're my wife, you get your husband to clean the car when you get home. On the day the photos were taken, I think she was home before dark. It's not normally that bad, just this particular time (a couple weeks ago). Keep in mind it is a 520km trip... My normal practice after these trips is to wash the car that night or the next day, but that's not always possible or practical when it's really cold out.

Damn, to think I get all bent out of shape when my car has a bit of dust on it. I don't know what I'd do if my car was ever as dirty as some of the cars in this thread. I am now thankful for living in the desert.

This would probably get even even more dirty, but I'm taking it in for service tomorrow. It was -5 F this morning, should be -7 tonight and Friday has a low of -16 and a high of -1. I know I wouldn't be washing it.

Wisconsin Rapids... We got about 8 - 10 inches. We seem to have got a lot more than other areas both north and south.

I'll be in Madison tomorrow night dropping off my car so look for a really dirty SSM.
