Illuminated door handles
Decided to try to copy a BMW and get my door handles to illuminate. Instead of BMW's white LED"s, i got 3 blue handles on teh two frotn ones. Im gettin teh back done over colombus it jsut takes too long and i gotta bring my car back up to RI tomm. SO for now i just got a new alarm and the two front handles two light up bue. Hopefully im the first one to do this.....and even more importanly hope you guys like it.

They are on when you unlock the car or open the doors. Theres a universal kit you can buy from plasmaglow.com. I jsut brought it to a ca shop and asked them to do it because i had no idea on how to get the wires through. Next time i see him i can try and ask him how he ran it through.

I think it was like 80 dollars for the kid, 4 strips of 3 thin led's, and labor is like another 100. I bought an alarm with it so im not sure how much exactly it was but 180 seems about right. He said when he does the back itll be a lot harder.

Ricey? Ehh Since the BMW 7 series have them, i thought it would be a good idea. Kinda bring some luxury....or more luxury. Maybe it's the blue lights? Il try and take some pictures of the LED's, almost impossible to get my camera in there. It's a special kit. www.plasmaglow.com should have the kit. Il definately try my best though and get pics asap. One more thing. I suck at taking pictures cuz my hand is shaky as hell, and i dont think they have a tripod out for my camera, any options on this camera that might have like anti-shaking mode? lol I dont know. Thanks for the comments though.

I have to agree - the blue LEDs are rice and would not work like the BMW incendecent bulbs.

I wouldnt do it at all, just personal preference, makes the car look like a cheaper light bulb and toyish. Ill just let the chrome plate reflect that slight hint of light and give my car that more expensive, metal kind of look

i still think it looks good, and i think that's what counts. Pretty original idea and not too expensive. I know its just your opinions, so thanks for the comments. I want to hear what people think, hate it or love it.

the way i see that.. your walking up to your car.. you hit the unlock button on the key fob.. and those little suckers light up for about 10 seconds.. that would add a nice luxury feel to the car.. inviting you to open the door

If you have trouble getting into your car because your tripping over a curb u parked next to, I dont think you deserve to get in. lol just my opinion

they're so you can see if there are any puddles under your car,
so you don't step into them,
it's nice for women who don't want to get their feet wet.

Sorry, but I think it is way too ricey. When I first read your thread I thought you meant the INTERIOR door handles. I did that to a friends Z34. It was really easy and looks cool at night.
