If you're wondering whether or not you should remove that spare…
…remember what happens when you get a flat.
This was me on Saturday in San Francisco when one of my FK452s succumbed to a pretty huge-ass nail hole. I got out of my car to go into the club and heard a hissing sound. Cost $160.00 out of pocket to get the car back 30 miles or so to Palo Alto.
I was extra dumb, though: spare or not, I had forgotten to bring the spline key for the lugnuts

Ouch. Yeah, I'd definitely not remove the spare from my car. The funny thing is now that I have a BBK, if I ever have a blowout up front, I'm going to have to play musical rims... take a rim from the back of the car to the front and then put the spare on the back!

Even without a BBK, moving a full size up front and putting the spare on back is recommended for FWD cars.

in a case like this, I would start at the back.
granted, the following requires two jacks total.
jack up either the other side or the back of the car first,
then put another jack under the side that needs the tire switched.
if you have a aftermarket rsb like most of us do, you'll notice that
you can just jack one side of the car up and the car will
practically lift up evenly on the other side as well. I was a bit
shocked when I saw it on my car the first time, but the stiffness of
the chassis can come in real handy in cases like this, just something
to consider.

The only mod for the full size tire i heard is that strofoam tray cannot sit there anymore and the trunk lining pops up a bit.
Only issue is relocating all those tools i was thinking making a box in the future where people put their ambs agianst the rear seat.
