Hit & Run

Well on Saturday my wife went to the store and when she came out she found this...................................
(warning crappy cell phone camera picture!)

We called the police and had a report filed just in case the security cameras were able to get anything, but today when the security manager reviewed the tapes nothing was visible.

It would have been fine if it was 6-10 inches lower because my on order euroR lip kit would have covered it and kept it out of sight, but just my luck it's in the middle and will have to be replaced.

The top spot is a dent and colored with a little rust from the truck that hit her(witness saw the vehicle, but not the tag) and the bottom is a good sized gouge mark

to people who don't have the common courtesy to at least leave their information

Seriously... I feel your pain, but that's not that bad! I'd hardly call it a hit and run, more like a 'goddamnit' incident. A little TLC and paintless dent removal and you might be fine. There will always be marks on your car, can't chase every one.

I do lament the few scratches I know I have, but I'm not about to replace every part to eliminate them.

under the letter of the law it is a Hit and Run, someone hit my car and took off.............easy as that and

I am aware the damage is minimal and i have chip marks on my front bumper that I have yet to deal with, but this is an eye sore and will be addressed when I get the extra money, not right away

I can buff off the rust, but under that rust is a good size dent and the gouge mark is all the way through the paint down to the plastic(not a break in the plastic, but right above that point) and the gouge is inside another dent.

the thing about paintless dent removal is that it's a lot more effective on metal versus plastic, which is what the bumper is

it just sucks that you have to replace it for someone else not paying attention

i have no problem fixing my mistakes, but to have to cover other peoples is just ridiculous

Hit and run is a hit and run, Mike. Doesn't matter if its a tiny scratch or a totaled car. My gf's Miata had $800+ of damage done to it by a careless hit-and-run driver so I feel the OPs pain. It is annoying as hell.

i hope to keep my damage costs under $500 with a new bumper and paint

i just haven't decide if i'll put my euroR kit on before i get it fixed and just swap the rear lip once i get the new bumper finished or just wait

the kit should be arriving soon, so i'll have to make my mind up by then

Well, my last hit-and-run was to the tune of $2200, so maybe I'm just bitter. It always sucks.

Sigh.. it's regular for me. I have like 5 hit and run marks on my car. It's no use for me to fix em, because everytime I do, someone else ends up hitting me again. So I'm leaving them on my car.

Damn...another victim...It's very hard to accept this kinda thing but what can we do Back in the day, someone threw stone on my car while I was driving...Dealer shop scratch my roof when they were doing service, made two number plate dings after that, and I got a big door ding from another body shop today. They never accept what they did. No matter what I say, they just keep saying they didn't do anything with the damage. I don't want to deal with that kinda things anymore and I'm tired of it

dammm....that sucks.....i would get it fixed first before putting on the new lip kit....otherwise, the shop is going to have to take it off to repair that if it can be or else just replace the the bumper which means you're going to have to take it off again anyways.....and for some reason, the two way tape that the shops use are not as strong as the one that comes with the kit......good luck to you man

I always park away from the store, and I always get pissed when a some POS vehicle parks next to me. People who drive POS's are telling you, "I don't give a crap about my car, and I don't give a crap about yours!"

I feel your pain, but it can happen to anyone...... I probably have dents that I don't know about, yet....
