On the first page they were holding up a sign. Is that sign a place where you can order parts for the car? Also is there a website on the sign too?

Nice Accords!!

Just a question, why does the older Accord look longer and bigger than the current TSX?

The older accord aka CL1 (the pic u see) was developed in 2001 after the Tourneo was done in Japan. Basically, the Tourneo was the "accord flagship" but after the British produced the H22A UK spec, the Japs redeveloped the Tourneo to an Accord label. The tourneo shared the same platform as the Accord but introduced as "Euro R" based on fine tuning the H22a to produce the 220HP & torque 220NM.

Thus, the length of the CL1 is slightly longer and still carries the traditional Jap low wedge, all round excellent view styled like the prelude etc.

Thus, it does look longer and bigger because of the more glass, less metal look.

The CL7 is almost similar in size, except the front and rear overhangs are shorter and the wheelbase also made shorter for handling purposes.

But the front height was increased to give it the smaller look.

Hope this helps.

If you refering to the CF sppon sport on the white older Euro R version, CL1, it is actually the CL7 version.

Somewhere in modifications, someone posted that he bought his from Singapore. Some of us have this, not all. Original Spoon ones are also available with Spoon. Check the threads in the other folder!

Thanks for the historic information!!

Just wanted to add that the CL1 looking again looks also a bit like the USDM 6th Gen Accord sedan a little bit too. Do you know if the CL1 shares anything in common with the 6th gen Accord sedan at all?

i'd assume so.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Accord

i'm not sure if the euro-r and usdm accord had the same chassis code though.

I think u refer to the CG5 which is the big accord 2.4 ltr SOHC engine. Yes, it is actually based on the CG% slimed down version, narrow doors, lighten here and there blah blah and sharper eyes.

Inside cabin is different. Although general layout seems same.

i'm not sure if the euro-r and usdm accord had the same chassis code though.

Ist generation Euro R (CL1) was based on this sixth generation CG5. Engines different as CL1 uses the maxout H22 tuned to 220 BHP and 221 NM torque.

I recall CG5 using F series engine. The CL1's generation tritronic auto version was coded CF4 which is the F series and there is a S-type at 190BHP on F series engines. CF4 is very similar looking front except non HID and the rear lights are reverse mirror with CL1.

The Tourneo rear lights same as CL1 but the front is not as sharp looking as the CL1.

Confusion during those turbulance years of the birth of the Euro R.

The Accord was not suppose to have a type "R" version and the British plant took exception to transfer a H22 engine (UK SPec 206 BHP) and call it "Type R". The Japs took the H22A and tuned it 220bhp and call it "euro R" to give some credit to the EU as well side step that it will not be called a "type R"

A true Type R is suppose to be stripped of weight and all the comfort goodies.....and the Accord is a 4 door family saloon.

The sign was some New Car which some of us bought the Euro R from. Since it was a festive season, they organised this and we made it a meetup and thus this photo shoot.

When we read what most of you are looking at, we are aware of the parts already. I perosnally look for some things that we cannot find in Asia. i.e if made in the US. Quite tough to know if the TSX fits for the Euro R.
