Congrats! I have a couple of questions:

1. Initial Impressions?
2. Did you reflash four ECU?
a. Does V-TEC kick in at 3,000 RPM?
3. Was it worth the money (driving wise)

Keep up the good work on your TSX!

Hmmm...interesting that your CF manifold cover doesn't have the Comptech sticker on it. Are you planning to put one on there?

Congrats again...got me an 06 S/C brother !

I will say that this thing will kill the car faster if its a daily driving car ehh??

Because i think the way that, the SC's working everytime you step on the gas... ?? (kinda like.. boasting it everytime?)

thanks man!

1. love it!
2. yup. reflashed my ecu again to the sc spec.
a. i'm not really all that sure when vtec kicks in lol!
3. well, being that i don't daily my car, it's more for "show" i guess. so in that sense it's give and take if it's worth the $$$$. however, if i was daily driving my car, i'd have to say that it's well worth the $$$$!

actually, mine didn't come with one. i pm'd josh about that but haven't heard back from him yet. i'm not sure if they're including them in the kit anymore since i bought mine after they switched over to CT Engineering. even on the ECM thingy they include with the kit had a piece of tape that read "CT Engineering" over where the Comptech label is.

Thanks for the info. I've been thinking about doing this mod next, but am concerned since I drive my car too much. I drive at least 100 miles a day on my commute, and quite a bit of it I am cruising between 75-85. I'd rather not cruise in V-TEC.

I'm glad it was money well spent.

I daily drive my car with a S/C, and I'd still expect it to last at least 150-200k miles. It has been proven on TOV that the K24 block is quite strong and I believe it will stand the test of time. Don't forget, the Comptech S/C in stock form yields about 5-6 psi of boost which is VERY little when you compare it to the obscene amounts of boost people push through a turbo (25 psi +).

While it is true that the S/C is spinning the minute you turn the car on, it is not boosting at all times. There's a difference between vacuum (air being sucked in from the outside at atmospheric levels) and boost (positive pressure being pushed in by the charger), and boost only kicks in around 3.5-4k RPM with the Comptech S/C.

^ Yeah, its a great mod, I think boost only comes on at 3k, which is VTEC anyway.

Whether or not VTEC engages is determined not only by RPMs but also engine load (true for both stock and S/Ced TSXs). In other words, once you accelerate at or close to WOT, the engine load is at it's highest and the engine switches to the high cam lobe to provide additional power. However, if you're just cruising at a consistent speed on the highway, VTEC won't engage because the engine recognizes the additional power is not needed.

Trust me, the car feels absolutely no different if you're just cruising at a constant speed. The only time you can even tell the S/C is there is if you mash the pedal .

so a gain of 50hp and 20ft/lbs at the wheels? Thats pretty impressive. Torque curve is pretty flat from 3.5K to 6.75K RPM. Pretty impressive. I wanna see some in car vids now

Nice numbers, I was kinda expecting your dyno to be higher than DAYTA's due to your full Mugen set up.. but still impressive!
