Euro>TSX mod

Hi all!

Some photos of my Euro > TSX modifications....

Still waiting for the centre caps and I'm done! (except for the steering wheel badge, can't do much about that....)

Is it excessively foggy where you live? If not, that's overkill.

Did you have any trouble with the grille being too big?

If you look at the pic (on the top part), it doesn't look like it sets as flush as it does on the USDM version. It looks about as much off as it is on the bottom when we get the JDM grills. Basically reversed.

does the rear 'H' or 'A' emblem have holes on to the trunk? or the 'boot' europeans call it?

Yeah it does, two pins in the back, fairly easy to remove, simply heat up the Badge and floss it, then remove the inter trunk lining, and pull out the Badge, then simply replace w/ a H like I did, an A like Euro did , or something else of your choice, while back 21 in az bondoed over it, and put the old TL Acura badge going across... (The badge was A,C,U,R,A all sepereate, spanned out across the spot where the A used to be)

Damnit guys lol, we Cant have too many TSXes out of the US, and Euro Accords here lol, half the reason i did mine was for the WTF factor lol

Why do other countries have better license plates than the US?
Its pretty funny but when I was in Germany I saw a BMW AC M3 with CA plates.
Looked pretty poopy to me shoulda just kept his Euro plates.

Yeah I don't know.....I think the US 'orange' blinker lights actually look pretty crappy! But then again it would stick out more. Is it by law you must have orange coloured light assemblies for the blinkers?

Well as a short answer, yes. A bit of difference between US and Japanese manufacturing..... I actually had to put a bolt in the bottom of the grille to hold it in properly - you can't see though as I have covered it in black heatshrink.....

Here you can get plates of several colours - yellow, black, green, blue, purple, orange etc and have anything you want on them (1 each obviously!). You do however pay a premium for having these customised plates.......

My grill and badges are halfway across the world now Glad they fit well for you. I agree with CMF, the USDM and JDM bumpers must be slightly different, but I think the TSX grill being too big is a lot better than the Euro-R grill being too small.

That and I ran out of double sided tape and have to buy some more......

I'll post an updated picture once its all on!

Light assemblies or bulbs have to be orange. For me, I like the clean look of a clear reflector like on your car, so if you decide to swap out your headlamps to make it more like USDM, let me know, and we can work something out!

I always wondered if you could get the ACURA letters off of a CL and stick them onto a TSX. I always liked the lettering on the back end of the CL and wish they had done that with the TSX (spelled out A-C-U-R-A in the middle of the trunk, rather than the "A-badge"). Has that been done?

Thanks Mem! 21 in AZ had a CG TSX, too, just like mine, so I can see on his site what it would look like if I did the same to mine. I wonder where he got the lettering. May have to ask my dealer if he has some "spare letters" (just like "Wheel of Fortune"...can I buy an "A") or check my local junkyard to see if anyone has wasted a CL recently....

I used a set of 3.2TL emblems to test fit how it would look. I had originally wanted to do the mod, but in the end decided against it.

Wow........that's awesome work, I am loving it~

As for the USDM conversion.....wow, you are the first person I met (online and real life) that does that. All my friends talk about JDM, JDM , JDM.... no one wants to be USDM, not even some of the people in Asia~

Yeah its for the 'what the ?' value more than anything. Not many of these around in Aus compared to Ford/Holden(GM)etc.... And truthfully, I think it does look better. And, of course, the fact that no one else in Aus has done it as far as I know so it is unique here!

Centercaps are no problem. Lets make some stickers in a shop and you don't see the difference.
The steeringwheel is another problem. But........
Make the travel to Europe (Belgium) with your airbag and we change it.
Youre always welcomm....
So you have a unique Honda and i have a unique Accura.

A have planty off place.

So you can see the difference (between european Honda's and 'Accura's).

Yeah the caps I managed to source from the states for $25, so no problem there, straight swap over. I think the centre steering wheel badge will be a straight swap over? Can anyone confirm the dimensions of the badge?

Tomorrow a take a photo of it. With dimensions.
I post it somewhere. With dimensions.
I let you now where you can find my photo's.
I think, the only way to resolve those prolbems is to switch the airbag.........
Make me a proposal.

The Euro Accord Steering wheel cover is the same as the US Accord 2door Stering wheel, looks allmost identical to the TSX wheel, but the badge is a totally different size...Belive me i looked into it, unless u want to go through all the fuss of changing the airbags theres unfortinutly not much you can do...im attcually planning on looking into some of those aftermarket Honda Badges, too see if maybe one is close enough in size and shape to work with
