Dry Carbon Manifold Cover

Well, it has arrived.
First Dry Carbon Manifold Cover I've seen on this forum.

Overall Quality: 8 out of 10
Weave Quality: 6 out of 10
Fit Quality: 9.5 out of 10
Dimensional Quality: 10 out of 10
Weight Reduction: 10 out of 10

Problems:
Weave is a 2x2 I think it's called.
Mugen uses a 1x1 I think, it looks like tiny little squares.
Password uses a 2x2 on this piece, and on all their pieces, looks
like a weave would normally look. I think this is an inferior design.
Holes for mounting are very, very tight, almost a bit too tight.
Once it's on, you have to struggle a tad to get it off.
They should have included washers for the top bolts or built
them into the cover like the OEM one.

Advantages:
Aside from the tight holes, it is a perfect fit.
Being true dry carbon, this thing is about weightless.
Perfectly correct proportions to the OEM one.
It's CF, so that's an advantage to many as is.

Pictures of it:

pics of it on the car will come later, another day.
here are pics of one very similar on someone else's car though for you:

The weave around the bolts looks horrible.

the pics of the one on the car are not mine.
just another one from the same company.
and yeah, the weave leaves much to be desired for.

Very nice indeed. It's nice to be able to shave weight in a lot of little areas. Any idea on the weight difference between the two covers?

BTW, wheels look fantastic M, well worth the wait. Congrats on the pick-ups.

I'll be taking it off the car soon to weigh it.
But not for a little while.
I'll get back to you on the weight.

Here are the pics of it on my car:

certainly far from perfect.

actually yeah, it does bother me.
enough so to want it off the car.
I want one that matches the Mugen weave.
I have a Mugen intake on the way, I hope that
matches the weave of the spark plug cover.
I have a FEEL's bar coming too, and I also hope that
matches.

I'm hoping to have one made eventually by a guy on
the other site that does custom work.

there is a big quality gap in the carbon fiber world.

All for looks. I wouldn't rely on it for weight reduction because the weight saved is less than the amount of body weight I lose when I go to the toilet. Look nice though.
