A Day of Endless Headaches...

So today I ventured off to Heeltoe to get my Endless BBK installed. Got there on time and everything as always and as Marcus began, he realized he needed a tool. So going to the store and buying a piece that was needed was headache number one.

When we got back, Marcus began the install and everything went smooth. Then when It came to putting my rims on, they didnt fit. I now have a set of Volk LE37t's that are 18x7.5+48 and I thought they would clear, but apparently they didnt. So headache number two came about.

So me and Marcus go down the street and go to buy some spacers. They only had 8 mm spacers, and we figured that they would clear that calipers, so I bought them along with some gunmetal Rays lugs.

We got back to installing and realized that the spacers had made the rims clear the calipers, but left us pretty much no thread. Headache number 3 came pounding along.

So I was left with 4 options.
1. buy extended studs (but I used endless fluid and only had one bottle so I could bleed the breaks again)
2. Call my parents to have them drive my advans down which had no tired and I wasnt even positive if they would fit
3. Go back down to the shop and buy some new rims that would fit for now until I figure out what to do
4. Call tsxtasy and hit him up on his joke earlier that day when he told me "you could borrow muy wheels and i will borrow yours"

I opted for number 4, and tsxtasy came to the rescue wit his rims. The rims had a lot of clearance.

So after the headaches were done, I decided to drive over to tsxtasy's house and see how my LE's looked on his car. Me, nick, aaron, and damon ended up making a little mini meet out of it and grabbed some food after.

So now I am pretty much on my third set of rims and looking for a fourth now. The BBK is installed and I am currently rocking some OZ's. So that is my story and here are the pictures...

What it would have looked like if it cleared...

What it ended up look like with tsxtasy to the rescue

Mini Meet

My rims on Nick's car

His rims on mine

Aarons sick works

FOOOOOOOOD

wow.
nothing but headaches with the Endless kit huh?

I have the same LE37t's you do.
mine clear, like I'm sure yours do, but only by like 1-2mm.
and I'm guessing you thought that was too close for comfort, which
it probably is... some 5mm spaces will solve your problem.
8mm is too big and not needed, so just swap them for 5mm up front
and get your rims back on your car. he runs too much wheel gap for those
rims anyways...
Marcus should have known that 8mm spacers would need extended studs.
anything over 5mm needs them.

mind explaining what this tool was that was special that he didn't already have?
I'd like to make sure my mechanic has it prior to the install.
I bought two bottles of the S-Four just to be safe.

Well it's nice to see the BBK on, just wish your rim ordeal would have gone better.
Don't think I would sleep too well with my Volks on someone else's car...

The le's dont clear at all. They hit the caliper once everything is on.

5mm would only allow me 1mm or 2mm of clearance after. Marcus knew about the extended studs, we were just trying to get me home that day and no one had extended studs with spacers. I dont mind having these rims on for now.

The tool Marcus needed was just one for the bolts. He didnt have the size in his garage so we bought one.

I am not to concerned with Nick having my rims on his car because he is a good friend, I trust him and he trusts me.

Plus, this situation gives me yet another excuse to buy another set of rims

ah, I see.
well I guess I will be running the 5mm spacers on mine then.
I'm okay with a slight amount of clearance.

so it looks like you are going to go the Advan 5-spoke route huh?
they'll be nice and open, showing the brakes off well.

gonna sell both your current advans and volks?

Those black OZ's look fire on your car, grenas. I'd stick with those if for no other reason than to be different. Plus it makes the BBK pop soooo much...

thats quite the predicament. if that happened to me, i would have been stuck. glad you have a temporary fix though.

i also agree with the few above me... the OZ's look sick also - for the time being, thats a cool setup you've got there. cant wait to see the next set of rims...

i guess it is heeltoe first time doing bbk then.

if i am doing the bbk the first thing i would ask is if the rims is high disk before jacking up the car.

extend studs and spacer he should know that kind stuff already.
