Bored in Bklyn (& Queens) with my TSX (56K...no way)

i went out for zeppoles on st joseph's day, and came back with 100 pics of my car, i'm posting my nine favorite, (and a few zeppoles too!) hope you like!

i'll let people guess where they were specifically taken (a couple are real easy) if you wanna know i'll post that later

btw: the colors on the plates are the italian, and the polish flags, i'm 1/2 italian and 1/2 polish, and liked doing that better than plain old blurring them out

its a canon powershot s45, 4 megapixel, of course those are shrunk down

its a great camera, and i would recommend it to anyone that wants a portable camera with many features of a more advanced camera, full manual, raw image recording and such, plus full auto when u want it, and nice and small, you really can't go wrong

the current model that replaces it is the powershot s80, i believe 8 megapixel and still has all the manual options, and i'm sure a few my s45 is missing

BillyM I live in Long Island City I have an 06 pearl blue AT. Ive only had the thing washed a couple times and there are already samll swirl marks in the clearcoat. Could you recommend a carwash in west queens/brooklyn that wont fuck it up more? preferably brushless

of course i'm not made, i'm only half haha, it's funny u say that because a lot of my friends have talked about it, it seems like the TSX/TL has taken over the old IROC's as the young goomba car of choice lol

LIC has become very nice in the the last few years, those avalon towers are amazing, too bad i can't afford those yet haha, as for the car wash, i will recommend two places, one in brooklyn and another in queens, both a little ways from LIC, they are the only two i go to:

first in queens, hand wash 2000 on the corner of the horace harding expy eastbound just before utopia pkwy, i wanna say the address is 180-?? Horace Harding Expy. it's close to my house and my choice, i recommend the VIP service for like $22 or $23 after tax, its competly brushless, they do a quick "detail" inside and out, lots of armor all, if u dont want it, make sure u tell them, or your dashboard will shine like joe pesci's gold tooth in home alone!

second, in brooklyn, on atlantic ave, at the corner of bedford ave, another great place, similar price, i think they do a little better of a job, but it's further from my house, but when u go, go to the mobil station a block away and get a hot dog, soda and chips for $1.47 after tax haha

sorry for my rambling on, i tend to do that haha

not right next to the gas station, its entrance is on a little dead end road, i think its bedford PLACE, not ave, the major intersection is bedford avenue, in the westbound lanes its called Brooklyn Auto Laundry or Auto Laundry car wash

as for the 4x4 comment...yea i know, i dont wanna drop it the roads are nasty here

I mean you dont have to slam it but even a 1.5 drop will get rid of osme of the wheel gap.

Nice looking '06. I'd go crazy with NYC as a backdrop for pics. Should be tons of great places to shoot your car.

See if you can get into Manhattan sometime and get some pics there, like on Wall St or something on a nice day.

i would love to do that, it's so hard to park in manhattan for more than a few seconds and not get a ticket, maybe i will do it on a sunday morning, thats when i took these, damn parking rules are way too strict here, but i guess they have to be, we deserve it the way we park and drive anyways haha

LOL! Yeah, I can imagine it would be tough. It's hard here in the Seattle area, too, and Seattle is no Big Apple.

What's that view I see sometimes, the one across the water, with the NYC skyline in the background? That'd be cool when the light is good, early morn or evening. The TSX is perfect for urban shots.

Your original pics were good, BTW.

Nice pics. I don't care what anybody says, the new front on the '06 with the integrated fog lights is bad ass.

A moderate drop with 17" wheels wouldn't hurt your car, I don't think. I'm dropped on Neuspeed Sport springs with Koni shocks about 1.6" on all corners and I drive in Boston all the time with 18" wheels (although I did manage to bend one of them). If you dropped it with the Neuspeeds or an Eibach Pro-kit and kept either the stock wheels, which are very strong, or went to some forged 17" wheels, I don't think you'd ever need to worry. And you'd be AMAZED at how much better the TSX looks with a drop. I was.

We have that same small camera at work, I've dropped that fawker soooo many times and just a word of caution, the casing is very easily dentable so if you do happen to drop it make sure it's on something soft...

Seriously though, beautiful shots, I really wanna visit NY area one of these days. what is that famous bridge in one of your shots that appears in every NY setting movie?

i love that camera, but unfortunately i broke the door that covers the lens so it makes a funny noise opening and closing

the bridge my car is parked more or less directly under is the manhattan bridge, in the background is the brooklyn bridge, its only visible in one of the shots i think
