so why are CF hoods subjected to popping open and oem hoods arent?

sorry just never been a fan of hoodpins. they take away from the look of the car especially on the tsx. on some more over the top cars that are directed towards the race look then it looks good but not on a sports luxury sedan.

however the hood itself looks very good.

the idea is that the latch on the bottom isn't as sturdy as an oem one, so the hood could rip off from the latch. personally I don't believe that is likely to happen w/ a reputable cf hood maker

The hood looks great, but the pins don't. Kinda reminds me of a verticle door kit on a 4 door. But if you removed the OEM hood latch and just used the pins, then I would approve. But since you didn't and you used the head light adjustment hole for hood pins, I strongly disapprove!

Is this an OEM CF Hood, because some CF hoods don't come with latches therefore hood pins are needed to stop it from flying off. You still need to be a bit careful with the hood pins, my boy lost a hood on the highway once and he even had hood pins.

it is an oem style hood made by VIS. it does not require hood pins at all. another member tsx_on_dubs had the hood on his tsx show car and did not have hood pins and said it closed very securely with the factory hood latch.

hmm.. i wonder if it could work on an 06.. but the trim would look ridiculous..
that purple type-s in the k20vsk24 thread has a nice hood with no trim.. that could work.. but who makes it?
